Dump Condi: Foreign policy conservatives charge State Dept. has hijacked Bush agenda
Insight Magazine ^ | July 26th | Daniel

Conservative national security allies of President Bush are in revolt against Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, saying that she is incompetent and has reversed the administration’s national security and foreign policy agenda.

The conservatives, who include Newt Gingrich, Richard Perle and leading current and former members of the Pentagon and National Security Council, have urged the president to transfer Miss Rice out of the State Department and to an advisory role. They said Miss Rice, stemming from her lack of understanding of the Middle East, has misled the president on Iran and the Arab-Israeli conflict.

"The president has yet to understand that people make policy and not the other way around," a senior national security policy analyst said. "Unlike [former Secretary of State Colin] Powell, Condi is loyal to the president. She is just incompetent on most foreign policy issues."

Right. Give and take.

Arabs attack over an international border (that's the give) and they get land (that's the take).

Maybe he did it with that new HTML version of the ZIP compression algorithm.

Or maybe it's the fact that zeroes don't take up much space.

You just keep proving my point and I'm pretty sure you don't even realize it.

Thanks again.

Condoleeza Rice is doing exactly what the President wants her to do, or he'd sack her. They BOTH want a Palestinian State, existing in peace with Israel. If they advocate for this, then the Palestinians show that they are incompetent to handle it, it will prove to the world that they don't deserve a state. By blocking their efforts to get a state, we're just delaying the inevitable and making folks think we're just being recalcitrant for the heck of it.

With all due respect, Sabra, I did read the links in 148. And one of them before you posted it.

There is no gray area in the concept of diplomacy. Diplomacy is exactly what it's definition would imply.

BTW, do you remember the second Reagan term? These exact same charges were leveled at him. What Reagan understood, and President Bush has learned, is that in the first term, you establish your credibility. You mean what you threaten. In the second, you use that credibility to make progress on peace.

How you get that from those postings I'll never know...

To me it is just straight diplomacy and its' mixed language. You know that's her job as CHEIF DIPLOMAT...

However one thing is sure, you have never read any of her written work or speeches.

Condi capitulate to terror. I think not.

Only a full Sesame Street education could produce such brilliant replies.

Give Big Bird my regards.

You are embarrassing yourself.

Either that, or you are a liberal troll, just practicing your rebuttals. My guess is college age, female or gay, but an obvious troll either way.

You are wrong on so many things, in so many ways, its a wonder that you can use the Internet.

Interesting take on Romney. Do you think he can take the south in the primaries? He strikes me as being a tad bit metro, but that could be my personal bias against Bostonians. Its just that my gut check tells me that he won't play well down south, but would do well everywhere else. He would certainly do better than someone like Guilliani or Gingrich. I don't think any Congressman or Senator can win the Presidency right out of the box—which shoots out McCain, Pence, Allen and Tancredo...too much baggage and name fatigue.

You're right, however, that if Rice runs (and has a very experienced political team) she wins. I'm betting she won't go for the top job, however. I will keep your Romney/Rice '08 ticket in mind. I certainly wouldn't bet against ya 'cause I might get banned. I heard somewhere you are an honored Freeper of some kind. ; )

At this point in the speculation I'm putting my money on Dirk Kempthorne. Long shot, not running, from the west, I like the way he owns his ground. Safe, irrelevant speculation on my part. In a field this crowded, might as well go with the guy with the most interesting name. Dirk, Mitt, Condi. Huh.

I was one of the first here to recommend her running, back in 3/05 at least, and I think earlier! I remember putting some thought into it, wondering why she wasn't being mentioned here of all places as a possibility. I'm glad to see the conversation continuing.

Wouldn't it be funny if the left's attempt to get Hillary elected with preparing the ground by the TV show with the female president, actually prepares the ground for Condi's election?!

Well, since I'm not a REAL conservative, I wouldn't know. ;-D

You might want to check with the mods. I think plugging one's own website/blog is already against the rules, but I'm not sure. There seems to be a sliding scale in that regard.

Might want to Freepmail 'em.

I think Romney will do fine in the South, especially standing next to John McCain. Allen is just too timid and calculating. Romney is a professional organizer, and will have more money than he can spend. I think his coolness will cause a McCain meltdown.

LOL. Sneezing and hiccups have been known to cause a McCain meltdown.

You may just be right. He did a heck of a job on the Olympics. It will be fun to watch. I'll be watching for it.
