While most Moslem-Americans are loyal citizens, and willing to send in tips about possible terrorist groups, outfits like Jamaat ul Fuqra just don't do that sort of thing, and react violently if they find any of their members doing so.

The sort of Muslim who tips off the authorities to terror activity is the apostate, not the true believer.

Never seen any proof of this this - and have seen lots to the contrary...

It says they recruit in prison. I'm confused, though, do they recruit 'traditional' islamists from overseas who somehow are in U.S. prisons, or are they also recruiting those who follow the 'nation of islam' sect?

From my understanding NOI has little to do with 'mainstream' islam, so I don't see where they would have any sort of ideological ties. As far as I know NOI and black muslims don't believe in the destruction or overthrow of the U.S. government, only segregation. But who knows what these groups think.

Even if these groups are not actively carrying out terrorist acts, their preaching and everyday conversations indicate they would provide support services for any "holy warriors" that came knocking.

Why did the name CAIR just pop into my mind while reading that line?

I bet this article is right on. I remember driving through northern Maryland a few years ago pre-9/11 in a rural area and hearing an all Arabic station on the AM dial.

I kind of like the fact the author used Moslem (an Arabic word meaning oppressor, but which sounds like Muslim--they really hate it), but Mohammedan is better (they hate it even more).

The disturbing thing about these groups being out in the country is that their members can acquire farms and, in the guise of buying fertilizer, acquire lots of ammonium nitrate for bomb making. Then all they need to do is get the detonators.

I think jihad terrorist camps in this rural area would be noticed by the Michigan militia, which is entirely made up of the FBI, ATF, EPA, CDC and a dozen other federal agencies with nothing to do.

On the other hand, maybe not.

They didn't even go into the large number of Hezballah and Hamas cells in the American heartland. And while they mention recruiting in prisons, no mention at all of all the recruiting going on at the universities, including our own OU in Norman, where one of their recruits blew himself up--alone, thankfully, although there is some evidence he wanted to take some of the 90,000 sports fans at the stadium with him. (Note: FBI says that incident had nothing to do with terrorism, but local LEOs think otherwise.)

The elite the FBI work for brought them here in the first place, then they turn around and use the problems they caused to justify grabbing more power. Neat, sweet, petite.
