Maybe this video, one of the most amazing computer simulations I’ve ever seen, will finally convince the Truthers (aka, 9/11 conspiracy rubes) that American Airlines Flight 77 really did deliberately plunge into the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, carrying 53 passengers, six crew members, and five Islamic terrorists from Saudi Arabia screaming “Allahu Akbar!” in the cockpit.

It’s a clinical presentation, but absolutely horrifying if you allow yourself to imagine what the passengers experienced as the plane flew only feet off the ground, snapping lamp poles in its final approach.

Now that I read them, I agree, we need an independent investigation. An Exocet missile fired from a French shrimp boat in the Potomac hit the Pentagon, then Flight 800 was flown into the hole...

Egads.

I think, though, that many of the conspiracy followers are just in it for the amusement. They drag others in, unfortunately, who liberally drink the Kool-Aid, and the media will amplify ANYTHING that hurts America or makes W look bad.

Yeah, but the fellow traveler won't really believe the conspiracy theory- he'll just use the opportunity to advance whatever the agenda is.

In this case it's "use everything that happens to denigrate the Bush administration" in general.

Many on FR did not believe the CIA's Flight 800 computer simulation; this computer simulation, as compelling as it is, will be seen in the same light as the Flight 800 one to those who already think that no plane hit the Pentagon.

I worked with a German lady - in her 50s - raised in Germany. She moved here because there were no jobs at home.

She was convinced the CIA & Mossed had engineered the whole Sept 11 thing - someone in Germany was pushing a book about the whole secret deal.

She could not understand why as a native American I could not believe the story. I explained my government/country/society had never burned the capital to allow a dictator to take over, we had never had a king and so on. She got a little steamed. My point, the Nazis came to power for a reason - because a lot of people went along - knowingly or not.

She then got pretty angry. I said history is what it is - in Germany today, if you move to a new city, you still have to register with the police. Some things may never change.
