I am not very good at posting but feel this is important.
A young man/teen has been missing since last week. My friend's son spoke with him last Friday and there have been some "sightings". But, this boy, Jeff, is still missing. His mother passed away from cancer years ago and his father left. His grandparents are raising him. They are beside themselves. He was with his brother(18) while they were out of town & spent a night with a friend. That was last Thursday. Friday he spoke with my friend's son. Nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing since except the supposed sightings.
We are hoping it is a runaway situation and he is scared cuz of all that has happened. The FBI is or will be involved. I am just asking for prayers for Jeff & his grandparents and all of the people trying to find him.
I didn't know whether to post a new thread with this information or not, but it probably belongs here.
After correspondence with ozaukeemom and listening to local news (I live in the area), we learned that Jeff's body was found in a small town in the area where he lived. I don't know specific circumstances and won't elaborate. Jeff's grandparents were devastated when they heard this.
The reason I'm posting this (and pinging two FReepers with large prayer ping lists) is that Jeff's funeral will be held in a few days. Jeff's relatives need our prayers and support, so if anyone has any words of comfort for them to read, feel free to post them here.
Nothing can bring Jeff back, but perhaps we can help his relatives in their time of grief.

I drive past the point where Jeff was found everyday on the way to work. There are A LOT of balloons near this spot.
This young man was very special to a lot of people.
To Jeff's family: all of you are in the prayers of hundreds of strangers and Christians who care about you. But most of all, your Saviour is there for you. Lean on Him in this dark time. Christ has the biggest shoulders in the world for you to cry on. Use them; He will never turn you away.
I am so sorry. Prayers for Jeff's family for comfort and healing -- and that justice be brought on the wrongdoers if there are any.

Please let the family know that nothing erases Jeff - not death, nor sorrow, nor anything mortal can undo what God created in love and hope. Jeff was here; Jeff is with God, and Jeff always will be, now and forever.
Life is life, and God is God - and in the end, Jeff is still the Jeff you all loved. May you see Jeff as he is, in God, and loved...

I am so sorry to read of this sad. . .tragic unfolding here. The pain of grief is excruciating; we want to retrieve, reclaim what we cannot. May God's Grace and the love of family and friends, together sustain those who knew and loved this boy and who are now, suffering so greatly.
Prayers are on the way for his safe return to his grandparents.
