...lowering gas prices...
When will this happen? 2007? 2008? These RATS are just full of it...
To: Libloather
LOL! These people are so clueless. Clinton had the presidential bully pulpit back in '94 but the GOP was somehow able to come up with a compelling message of change. The Democrats want to return to power but admit in the next breath they don't have an agenda to fulfill if that happens. Yeah, right.

LOL..what did bugs and daffy do to deserve to be belittled like that..;)

By their own admission, they're uninspiring. They can't give people ONE reason to vote FOR them. Of course, they know who they are against. But it will not be enough to make up the distance they have to travel to where they'd like to be in the fall.

"Democrats will get another chance to learn the details of the New Direction this week. Pelosi sent them home with an 83-page packet describing it."
To be followed by a 356-page annotated appendix next week.
Not to worry, though, Dems - there will be a WHOLE NEW SLOGAN the next week after: "We're Democrats, The Party Your Mother Warned You About!"

The New Direction message largely replaces an earlier slogan, Together, American can do better, The "New Direction" sounds a lot like the "New Deal." And we all know how well that worked out. BTW, there's absolutely NOTHING in the dems' "New Direction" that deals with national security, border security, defense, immigration, the war on terror (including Iraq/Afghanistan) or ANYTHING that the American people are concerned about. And, oh, hooray for raising the minimum wage (like all Americans make the minimum wage) and reducing community college costs. This is the best they can do?

I notice that there isn't a single point dedicated to the War on Terror. Which, I think, is kind of a big deal.

Guess they just have to redefine the Plantation.
(Maybe just admit that they have one)

They're divided on the war, on illegal immigration and don't know how to help the shrinking middle class. That about sums up the Democrats' position going into the November election.

"The Party With A Telephone Book Sized Platform."
It's for Tom Daschle to stand on behind podiums.

I've said for some time that the only chance the Dems have in November is to do a Gingrich and come up with a Contract With America. I figured it's safe to say so because I knew perfectly well that if they did it'd be this bunch of vague pablum instead of specific points. Lower gas prices? How? Prevent the privatization of Social Security? How? Provide affordable healthcare? How? Lower the cost of college? How? And the big one, IMHO, restoring fiscal responsibility - you can either do this by cutting spending or raising taxes or both. So which is it going to be?
If they can't answer these questions then they don't have programs, they have talking points. There's a big, big difference.
To: goldstategop
I certainly agree with that, but think they could at least pay lip service to the need for the defense of our nation. Or, perhaps they plan to follow Kerry's lead and leave it to the UN to administer a "global test." BWAHAHAHA!

Its funny how the Democrats rail at supposed Republican incompetence. Here they can't even pass a budget in New Jersey, where their party has unified control of both elected branches of the state government. What's their excuse for incompetence there?

A country at war, terrorists who would like to kill us by the bushel along with myriad other concerns and the Democrats worry about slogans.
These jerks are pathetic.
