The Haditha Our Media Won't Tell You About (Makes sense now)
Source Guardian (UK) Via navyseals.com ^ | Sunday June 4, 2006 | Omer Mahdi in Haditha and Rory Carroll in Baghdad

Behold this article from last August by a reporter for the UK’s Guardian (of all places):

Under US noses, brutal insurgents rule Sunni citadel

Guardian gains rare access to Iraqi town and finds it fully in control of ‘mujahideen’

Omer Mahdi in Haditha and Rory Carroll in Baghdad Monday August 22, 2005

The executions are carried out at dawn on Haqlania bridge, the entrance to Haditha. A small crowd usually turns up to watch even though the killings are filmed and made available on DVD in the market the same afternoon.

One of last week’s victims was a young man in a black tracksuit. Like the others he was left on his belly by the blue iron railings at the bridge’s southern end. His severed head rested on his back, facing Baghdad. Children cheered when they heard that the next day’s spectacle would be a double bill: two decapitations. A man named Watban and his brother had been found guilty of spying.

With so many alleged American agents dying here Haqlania bridge was renamed Agents’ bridge. Then a local wag dubbed it Agents’ fridge, evoking a mortuary, and that name has stuck. A three-day visit by a reporter working for the Guardian last week established what neither the Iraqi government nor the US military has admitted: Haditha, a farming town of 90,000 people by the Euphrates river, is an insurgent citadel.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/05/31/haditha/index.html

Video on lower right hand side of the screen. Called "Haditha Uncovered. Go watch it.

Perhaps someone can explain to me the logical and factual flaws in the "Iraqi Civilian Right Groups" "story. How can these facts be logically reconciled with what the Iraqis, and some supposed Freepers, are accusing the Marines of doing?

To quote the original Time story:

"According to published reports, a number of Marines from the storied 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division are accused killing more than 20 Iraqi civilians in retaliation for the death of one of their comrades by a roadside bomb in November, 2005."

Okie, 20 Dead Civilians. Which we are told were all shot thus supposedly proving "the Marines falsified the original report". So what could just be an honest mistake between a Marine's assumption on the spot of cause of death in his After Action Report (We didn't fire up the building, they were dead, must of been the bomb shrapnel) with a medical examiners report filed after a autopsies is NOW claimed by the accusers as"proof" that the "Marines Lied".

Ok so the accusation is they were all shot to death at short range in a building that had not been penetrated by any rounds from outside. No bullet holes in the building, must mean it was not Collateral Damage but a deliberate act is the accusers claims. In other words the accusers claim the Marines shot to death the Iraqis inside the building as a deliberate act not an accident of war. In fact, Some are running around claiming a shrapnel wound is so obviously different that a Combat Infantry Marine would know the difference between the two. Leave aside the obviously question why would Infantry Marine would be examining the wounds of dead Civilians, lets assume, that is correct.

Ok, then how come the "survivors" as interviewed for CNN by the "Iraqi Civil Rights group" are making such obviously absurd claims on the video?

"They burned the room with my father in it then threw a bomb"? Neat trick that. How they "Burn the room"? We don't use flame throwers. "Threw a bomb" but the accusers are telling us it all gun shot wounds. "a Bomb" inflict shrapnel wounds.

Notice also the mannerism of the "children survivors". Having come thru what would of been the most terrifying event of their lives and being forced to talk about it again, yet the kids show no hesitation or emotion. Just a dull recital of supposed "Facts" as if they were reciting a story as an memorization assignment in School. Very strange that. Absolutely no real emotion, just a breathless recital of "Facts" Then when done speaking look over to the person standing to the right of the camera (You can see his shadow behind the kids). Sure looks like kids looking at a teacher to see how they did in reciting their "lesson"

Then there is the part where the "Iraqi Civil Rights Group" filming the kids told the Iraqi boy to "show his wounds". It must not of occurred to the "Iraqi Civil Rights Group" making the video to consider the Iraqi boy's supposed "wound". Apparently no one bothered to think about where he was "shot". The supposed "wound" supposedly inflicted by US Marines at point blank range, (as claimed by the "Iraqi Civil Rights Group)" is directly over his spine. Yet when told he got up and turned around for the camera to "Show his wounds"?

If he HAD been shot there, he would be crippled for life, his spine severed just below the neck. So all this is being based on the claims of an "Iraqi Civil Rights Group" which are demonstrated to be lying. Since they lied about this, what ELSE might they have lied about? So maybe some one can explain these inconsistencies in the "witnesses" testimony? Some "Americans", especially in the Junk Media, maybe want to rethink their rush to judgment on these Marines

Michelle Malkin has some interesting articles/pictures regarding this so-called innocents.

I do not believe there were ANY attrocities committed by the United States Marines.

I will ALWAYS take the word of a Marine over the word of a terrorist...wish I could say the same standard applies to Murtha, MSM, Kerry...

It does.

Given that every member of that subversive extended gang is first and foremost and most efficaciously , a terrorist.

Amen to that and Murtha does not deserve to be a US Congressman

Please help spread the word to support Diana Irey for Congress for the PA 12th District.

This whole story reeks of one big setup. If and when it's exposed as such, there will be as much silence as when the whole "wedding party" massacre and Koran flushing episode were found to be fraudulent.

Thanks for the link. Yeah, I call BS on the "facts". Now knowing the state of mind of the population there and how the 9 year old said she was waiting for the bomb to go off. The adults in that family must have know the IED was there. And, seeing how the children chear beheadings as though they are watching Barney or the Disney channel, you gotta wonder how "innocent" they are......

There have been at least a few "wedding party" killings. I just assume it is terrorists & their wives at some meeting. Seems to me, I recall some from Afghanistan too. I am mad at our "leaders" who fall for these stories too quickly, including Republicans.

I agree with you 100%. The media wants the military not to be able to defend themselves so they can scream about more of them being killed daily, thus turn people against the war more and more. JMO.

The concerning thing, to me, is that we as a nation seem so quick to discount what a Marine would say.

When did this fine legion dip to the level of politicians and lawyers?

How does this get out to the American public so that our Marines are cleared and the MSM looks like the garbage they really are?

I think you can blame the seditionist MSM and Democratic party for getting the ball rolling. It seems like Rinos are running for cover, not wanting to seem "insensitive" to the "innocent" civilians. Just like the Abu Ghraib panty-raid, our guys are the main focus and perpetrators of "evil", instead of the moon-worshipping devils that slaughter fellow muslims by the thousands.....

Check out this excerpt:

DVDs of beheadings on the bridge are distributed free in the souk. Children prefer them to cartoons. "They should not watch such things," said one grandfather, but parents appeared not to object.

One DVD features a young, blond muscular man who had been disembowelled. He was said to have been a member of a six-strong US sniper team ambushed and killed on August 1. Residents said he had been paraded in town before being executed.

Well, we know where the insurgents got the dead bodies from!

The insurgents could accused a one of their neighbors for being a spy or collaborating with the Americans. Shoot him or her and their families. Got rid of your spy problem and you have extra bodies to stage a "massacre". Video tape the scene with mournful relatives and blame it on the Americans.

It all makes sense now.

I think it will be very telling of what the reactions would be when those marines be cleared of wrong doing.

At best, someone would just say, "Oh well!" and then move on to the next bit of supposed dirt to focus on and not give it a seconds thought.

EXACTLY!! And, anyone who is rushing to judge these Marines should walk a day in their shoes. How can they know who to trust...munitions are stored at Mosques...they are shot at from "holy sites"........
May God bless and protect our military!

MNJohnnie,

Right at the very beginning of the video, just seconds into it, it shows a family member at the morgue, supposedly grief stricken, but if you watch closely you'll see before he doubles over screaming he's looking towards the camera waiting for his cue to start his phony act.
