CAIRO — An influential Islamic group branded an online video game depicting religious figures fighting each other as offensive to Muslims and Christians and successfully demanded Tuesday that it be taken offline. In the game "Faith Fighter," caricatures of Jesus, the Prophet Muhammad, Buddha, God and the Hindu god Ganesh fight each other against a backdrop of burning buildings. God attacks with bolts of lighting and pillars of fire while the turbaned Muhammad can summon a burning black meteorite. The Saudi-based Organization of the Islamic Conference, which represents most Muslim nations, said it should be removed from the Internet. "The...

Almost 500 years ago, on the wall of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany, Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses, characterizing as "madness" the notion that papal pardons could absolve individuals for their sins. As viewed from Rome, Luther had maligned, even defamed, the church. Luther was eventually excommunicated. His conduct ultimately led to the creation of a Protestant Church in Germany and a Reformation throughout Europe. It is difficult to believe that in the 21st century anyone would seriously propose that conduct such as Luther's should be deemed illegal. But a few weeks ago, the General Assembly of the...

Life TV’s Father Zakaria Botros recently ran a show dedicated to discussing the question of morality and how it is—or should be—one of the hallmarks of “prophethood.” At the start, he posed the focal question of the show: “Was Muhammad the prophet a moral man—the most upright man, worthy of being emulated by the world?” He opened the show by relying on an Ibn Taymiyya quote, which evaluated the signs of prophethood. Taymiyya asserted that there are many false-prophets, such as Musailima “the Liar,” a contemporary of Muhammad. Taymiyya concluded that many of these so-called prophets are, in fact, “possessed,”...

A SPEEDING driver has avoided a ban after his lawyer argued that he needed his licence to visit both his wives. Mohammed Anwar, 51, was caught driving at more than twice the speed limit on his way home from work in Falkirk. The restaurant owner, who has two wives under Islamic law, was clocked driving at 64mph in a 30mph zone on the Cumbernauld Road, Muirhead, Glasgow, on 21 August, 2007. Yesterday at Airdrie Sheriff Court, Anwar, of Clouston Street, Glasgow, pleaded guilty to speeding, but his lawyer, Paul Nicolson, said: "He realises his licence is at risk, but this...

It has become talking head fodder to speculate on what should happen to the Gitmo terrs. I've got an idea. Since the dims don't want to deal with these retromingent subhumans as they are, and would rather treat them as common criminals, it would be fitting to re-introduce them into society through the dims own portal. Throw up a 20ft razor wire fence around Washington D.C., dump them all into the mix, and forbid any contact with the outside world for 2 generations. It would be interesting to see if Barney or Chris survive.

Kalisch's recent public admission that he is unsure whether the Prophet Muhammad was actually a historical person has got him into hot water. Cologne, Germany - An Islamic theology professor in Germany who doubts the existence of the Prophet Mohammed won partial backing Thursday from another German scholar. Professor Sven Muhammad Kalisch, who trains imams, had upset the Muslim community with publications in which he said there was no proof that the Prophet was a historical person or that the Koran originated as Islam teaches. Professor Gudrun Kraemer, who teaches Islamic studies at the Free University of Berlin, said Thursday on German public radio she agreed there was no indubitable historical evidence of the Prophet's existence. The Jewel of Medina, written by Sherry Jones, allegedly has some racy material, enough to provoke one of the writers who vetted the book, Denise Spellberg, to warn the publisher that it could inspire violence. Random House decided not to publish the book for “fear of a possible terrorist threat from extremist Muslims” and concern for “the safety and security of the Random House building and employees.” Addressing this today is Catholic League president Bill...

The cartoon by Kurt Westergaard was one of 12 depicting the prophet which triggered riots around the world leading to dozens of deaths when they first appeared in 2005. The violent backlash demonstrated starkly the incendiary interface between Islam and the boundaries of freedom of expression in Europe. Denmark has a growing...

This is a cut and paste job of mine that I re-edited, for my own personal notes. Allah is a phase of the sun, translation "The Dawn", interpretation: Morning Star or Rising Sun. Allah is the contracted form from Alilah and the transliteral is this: The/god/ascends. The reason for the confusion is because the word "Allah" is borrowed from the Chaldean language. It is not a Aramaic word. More than two thousand years ago the Aramaic word for God was El, and "Elah", which means "The God", reading right to left. Another example is the Chaldean word for (sundown),"Me'al", reading...

European cartoonists have stirred up a controversy satirizing Mohammed, the Muslim prophet. One of the more creative panels shows Mohammed looking down from heaven at a long line of suicide bombers, pleading for them to stop down because "We have run out of virgins!" What the Prophet really needs is a Howard Dean to implement liberal dogma: – Redistribution of Wealth: Rewarding each suicide bomber with 72 virgins is "obscene," especially since disadvantaged (non-Martyr) Muslims are forced to survive with far fewer. A progressive formula for equitable redistribution of wealth is required to level the playing field. In addition,...

Drelijah Joshua Muhammed II, formerly known as Marcus Taite, was arrested Feb. 9 by Thomasville police officers when they attempted to serve him with a warrant and he became disruptive. The warrant for domestic violence, third degree had been issued by Clarke County Sheriff’s Department. There was also a warrant for parole/probation violation from the State of Alabama. After resisting the officer, Muhammed was also charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Once he was subdued and taken to Thomasville Police Department, officers found a crack rock in his pocket, so he was then charged with unlawful possession of a...

The paper's editorial staff told readers this...

Published: February 14, 2006 11:30 PM ET CHAMPAIGN Two editors at the University of Illinois student-run newspaper were suspended Tuesday for their decision to run a series of cartoons that have sparked outrage and violence around the Islamic world. Editor-in-chief Acton H. Gorton said the Daily Illini's publisher suspended him and the newspaper's opinions sections editor, Charles Prochaska, for two weeks pending the outcome of an internal investigation. "I'm very disappointed. I think this is nothing more than a cover-up," Gorton said. Publisher and general manager Mary Cory released a statement Tuesday night saying a student task force will "investigate...

A true pity that the spirit of Ahmad Shah Massoud isn’t being revoked to shine on the current cartoon controversy. Massoud is an inspirational hero; a Muslim hero and one who undoubtedly worshipped the Prophet Muhammad. So powerful was this leader of the Afghan resistance to the Taliban, that he wittingly earned the hatred of the treacherous and evil Osama bin Laden. In fact, before bin Laden carried out the carnage of 9/11, he first sent suicide bombers posing as journalists to kill Massoud on September 9, 2001.

It doesn't take Valentine's Day for me to acknowledge my lifelong love affair with the First Amendment. But these days as I read the free press and watch the TV news, I'm enraged by these violent, self-righteous, Islamo-fascists who are threatening to destroy and kill anyone who dares express beliefs in a fashion of which they do not approve. It disappoints me that anyone, never mind people of my guild, would kowtow to these fanatics. "I don't understand why anyone would even publish these cartoons," said Evan Thomas of Newsweek on the "Imus Show" last week, in a moment of...

Vikings. Once they were brave. Today some are brave and some are cowards. The brave ones are the Danish and the Icelanders, the cowards the Norwegians and the Swedish (at least where the governments are concerned).

February 10, 2006 Islamabad, Pakistan With the understandable outrage over the blasphemous cartoons tearing apart the Middle East, I felt I had to lend my support to my Islamic brothers and sisters. I chose my friend Scooter to accompany me on a trip to Islamabad, Pakistan, where we were to join the locals in protesting western infidels who make a mockery of the religion of peace. Since Scooter has an art degree, I put him in charge of creating our signs while I contacted a friend with connections to the protest leaders. I also tried to get hold of Peace...

Hello? Islam was born in violent conquest, and spread across the world within a 150 years through violent conquest. They have attacked Europe again and again, succeeding in conquering all of the Eastern Roman Empire by 1453. Pounding on the gates of Vienna repeatedly. Turned back in the 17th century only because of the economic take-off of Europe that left the Islamic world a stagnant backwater in world history. I've put a highly edited, i.e. cutting out all the torture, assassination, murder, chronology of Islamic conquest on The Dumb Ox. http://thomistic.blogspot.com/ or the direct link, http://thomistic.blogspot.com/2006/02/religion-of-peace.html Talk about news you...
