Please use this thread to post information, discussions, or links that will help readers decide on the California Statewide Partisan Republican Ballot Offices below.
Please refrain from rants, petty arguments, name calling, and other unhelpful replies.

State Propositions

Proposition 81 California Reading and Literacy Improvement and Public Library Construction and Renovation Bond Act of 2006
Shall the state sell $600 million in bonds to provide grants to local agencies for the construction, renovation, and/or expansion of local library facilities?

Proposition 82 Preschool Education.
Tax on Incomes Over $400,000 for Individuals; $800,000 for Couples
Should the California Constitution and state law be amended to create and support a new, publicly funded, voluntary preschool program for children to attend in the year prior to kindergarten, to be funded by an increase in personal income tax rates for high income individuals?

For other candidates and measures, please refer to other threads, some I plan to post later:

My leanings so far...

State Superintendent of Public Instruction: Diane A. Lenning. Edges out Bunting on family values and 2nd Amendment rights. Good article on her stand at CWA.

Proposition 81: $600 million in bonds! No! We spent $9 billion on illegal alien welfare last year, yet the state can’t find one dime in money for libraries, and has to borrow money again?
Proposition 82: Tax the rich even more? No. I don't make $800,000, but I know I'd just consider moving if I did.

FWIW, Sonny Sardo is an excellent choice to replace Drier.

Sardo is an ex-Marine, pro sovereignty candidate that has been supporting good conservatives for as long as I have known him.

He's an long time Republican who still remembers what the party should be standing for.

Is Sonny Sardo part of that Glendale Sardo family that lived up Chevy Chase canyon when I was a teenager?

They were quite a group...moved in, complete with something like a dozen Sardo kids and before long had a lock on the auto upholstery biz for the area.

Easy choice for me...
Diane Lenning for SPI
Anti-Prop 82, not a tool of the union goons.
NO on 82
Stop Rob Reiner

Don't allow them to fund more of the union money machine and use our children as guinea pigs for their mindless propaganda campaigns. Don't feed big government, don't put private sector preschools out of business.

And of course no on 81. More bonds, more bonds for something that should be funded on the local level (do you want to pay for libraries in L.A.?), and why are our schools churning out illiterates and "educating" illegals? Bah.

Same folks.

Sony has a brother named Tony. Tony has a band that plays for all the conservative rallys held at a La Canada friend of mine.

It's a country western group and easy to listen to.
