#374, I would agree with jimmah that they can be released to his custody, but they must remain in his living room in his home in Plains Ga. If they are caught out of his home, they will be given to the townspeople to do what they want with them. Is that fair enough Jimmah?

How about this??

We have camps for obese kids that need to lose weight...we have camps for kids who misbehave..and their parents can't deal with them...

Let's put the obese kids working the fields and the landscaping...and put the troublemakers learning a craft by starting out at the bottom in construction???

Then the entry level pay is justified...no one has to support a family, and our obesity problem goes away..and hopefully, these troubled kids would learn a skill and learn to work well with others???

Problem solved...now we just need a fence. Hmmmmmm, I wonder who could build that??? Convicts!! LOL

It is this mindset that "It's a crises" that is making the Govt go for this stupid "Comprehensive" Immigration solution instead of fixing it item by item.

I wonder just when the Gov't was going to begin fixing this immigration thing in the wonderfully logical "item by item" fashion you mention had it not been for 911?

As for the Cold War being more dangerous than the present era, I will leave such fine distinctions to others. However, I remember talking to a Pearl Harbor survivor just after the attacks on 911; he felt that we were entering the most dangerous period of his life. Time will tell. Speaking only for myself, unconditional love for one politician- or one political party for that matter- should never be allowed to cloud perception.

the Dream Act is because it is also one of Orrin Hatch's little babies...

I didn't know that, sleuth. I am beginning to despair. I think that is one of the worst things in a very bad piece of legislation.

Don't think he has to worry about getting charged with treason or anything else since NO ONE in this administration has shown a backbone & thrown down the gauntlet, challenging his motives & calling attention to his obvious anti-American actions.

Yeppers...I saw Orrin Hatch talking about it a couple of years ago, I think---maybe on Hannity and Colmes..and my jaw dropped...

It wasn't too long after that, that I found out MY state voted to do that HERE.

Considering that our state colleges and universities are so full, that a program that President Bush put into place, when he was Governor is having to stop from overcrowding, it makes NO SENSE...

The problem is all your camps would be filled with Democrats for the most part, and the chance of their learning much is limited.

Exactly samantha.

I think it(Murtha's actions) are definitely a diversion tactic and I really don't think it matters much what the diversion is. If you look at his(Murtha's) background demagoging the military the way he does makes little sense. It's done more for dramatic theme and diversion effect IMHO. HIs constant harping about how terrible the war is keeps the topic of the day off what it should be, his deception and corruption in allotting defense contracts. Hopefully his day will come.

You are trying to throw out these big numbers as statements of "FACTS", when they are at BEST guesses. Then you are stating those guesses AS FACTS, when they are at best estimate

According to Sessions, the facts are that the USG spends $39 billion a year in EITC to 22 million households. He didn't say how many of those were to illegal aliens.

The point is that if the illegals become legal, they will be entitled to EITC given their low incomes and large families.

Issues come and go so I don't know if one thread would work. I'm still waiting for Able Danger information to come out so we can address what happened so it won't be repeated.

My guess is every candidate will be talking about illegal immigration for the next few months, unless something comes up that seems more important.

Now might also be the time to address why congress has representatives in it based on population, which includes illegal aliens? Should illegal aliens or green card holders be counted in the census, or should the census be restricted to citizens?

ref #417, I did not hear the interview with Tony, but I read the transcript and it did sound uncharacteristically pushy and out of sorts for Rush. They differ on this issue and they were disagreeing pretty good. some of the unusual rudeness from Rush may have been because Tony was given a huge opportunity and he ran with it, and is a great success now. You could say that Tony is more of a success than Rush even though Rush makes a lot more money, and is known by a lot more People. Tony meets with the President and may be part of White House Policy, he works in the West Wing, and has a great wife and Family. Even though Rush may deny it, I believe he would love to be in Tony's position, and Tony may owe a huge amount of his success to Rush. There may have been something else going on also, Rush may want to distance himself from the New White House Tony as opposed to the old substitute Host for Rush Tony, but really who knows? Rush for the most part is the only real Adult out there most of the time and he still takes the slings and arrows. He can disagree with this Administration without being bonkers like Hannity and Ingraham, and the really wacky Savage.

Glad you believe the propaganda. I say it a bunch of nonsense. I say your guess of Y% of illegals drawing Govt assistance is nonsense. Since they are working here illegal, they are going to be reluctant to interact with any official authority. I say at best 1/8th your number actually get some kind of assistance. Prove me wrong.

See? You cannot. They are merely making assumptions. I am merely making assumptions in this post. You like their assumptions and do not like mine so you "Believe" their guesses and tune out mine. That does NOT make the "guesses" on either side facts.

The Antis are stating their assumptions as facts. They are not facts, they are guesses. They are merely one side of the arguments guesses. It a logical fallacy to state estimtimates as facts. I object to this habit in Modern Politics of throwing around "factoids" as "proof" when they are not facts at all.

I heard the interview and felt at the time it was Rush really searching for why is the WH doing these things? He treated Tony like a close friend, almost brother sitting at the kitchen table, or in the fishing boat, asking for the low down. Of course 30 million eavesvdroppers where listening in. Rush is usually deferential to the likes of Cheney, Rumsfeld and other VIPs he gets to chat with on the EIB Network, but this was very personal and Rush had a lot on his mind he hoped to clarify. Tony seemed a bit taken aback, but did not flinch, although he had to fall back to the talking points, and reminded Rush he had to keep in mind that he speaks for the POTUS.

#419, Another post that defines the entire matter. If a meat packing House Owner in Kansas can hire illegals he does not have to pay them top pay and he does not have to pay any of the standard benefits that the Normal Worker gets. He does not worry about paying Workmen's Comp, or unemployment or any of the Federally mandated items that a Normal Business has to pay. After all is said and done, he gets a bigger profit when he sells his product, and is able to take a small part of that profit and donate it to a Senator like Brownback that will vote the way he likes. all part of doing Business now in America. It is a bloody shame, but a few of these mandated regulations were instigated and fought for by Unions, and made the wages so high that the Companies could not compete with Companies overseas, and took the easy way out,and are now paying for it by breaking the law.
