The sleeping Giant is awake, and will be taking part in discussions all the long hot Summer on this matter, and they will get more and more angry as they see what is in the Senate bill. People are not stupid even though the Senators think they are. Tom Delay said it would be an ongoing matter for the House the entire Summer. I wish he was going to be there still, but I believe he is leaving in June.

Great Post...you have Frist totally figured out, IMHO.
Also, I think Frist was one of the GOP Congresscritters that jumped the gun on one of the NSA stories???
I can't remember, but I know that he has embarrassed himself a few times, by overreacting before knowing the facts and having to back off.

You are so right...in fact, I can't even remember the names of the people that said it...lol

#326, defines that issue right down to the Nitty gritty. Way to go....He thinks in his feeble mind that if he keeps this shilling up he will be protected against indictment, and he may be right because I believe the way he is talking he could plead Insanity, and get off.

You are very right...and I LOVE it when he is on the floor giving speeches.
He is always a gentleman, but he doesn't hesitate to point out mistakes HIS party has made.
Wouldn't it be neat if another SCOTUS postition became available...and Bush nominated him?? LOL

OMG, are you OK? I hope you have a decent prognosis, all that stuff that you had to endure makes me feel tired. God Bless you..

So maybe we would be like Europe and only have 1-2% GDP growth in a good year and creeeping unemployment crises as the Economy did not grow as fast as it needed. Then there is the explodin defecit crises since the growth in Govt spending would be vastly out stripping the economic growth rates. And maybe we would be slowly slipping into 3 world economic status and and a stagnet economy but HEY! We could all feel good cause we "got even" with those nasty lousy illegals! And as long as we felt good for "getting even" with all those nasty Illegals, we could still feel goo about ourselves which would make our Govt directed poverty and regulatory chains rest easy on us.
There are NO free lunches in Economics

The Cold War was vastly more dangerous. People need to take a deep breath. This is one of the fundamental problems. Hype and exaggeration are now the common coin of conversation. Every new "Crises" is hyped and scream as being the End of the world as we know it! This is part of the reason people simply tune problem out. They are so SICK of hearing everything is going to be the end of the world tomorrow unless we take this radical extremists massive expansion of Govt solution.
Illegal Immigration is a problem. It is NOT a crises. It has been a problem for decades. It is this mindset that "It's a crises" that is making the Govt go for this stupid "Comprehensive" Immigration solution instead of fixing it item by item.
Baby boomer's. I know they told you all your lives the world revolves around you, IT DOES NOT. Not everything that you care about is a world ending crises that needs a massive emergency fix in 5 seconds.. That is Advertising and HYPE talking, not actual reality.

ref #338, I am beginning to think that Murtha is not out there spewing all this crappola to get re-elected because it would be suicide to do it that way. He may be doing all this for the single purpose of staying out of Jail. All his harsh rhetoric loony tunes or not may prove he is mentally incompetent. He gets those far away looks, then he looks like he is trying to stare a hole in the chest of his questioner. I can hear his defense counsel now, "Your honor I submit defense exhibit 401, a tape and transcript of the Meet the Press Television Program from ----2005 which will show my client",-----fill in the blanks.

" When was the last time you used molasses to sweeten something? "
LOL, I use it often in cooking, and many of those actual almonds do go into animal feed. Most are fed to hogs.

Which is an attempt at intellectual fraud. You are trying to throw out these big numbers as statements of "FACTS", when they are at BEST guesses. Then you are stating those guesses AS FACTS, when they are at best estimates. That is intellectually dishonest. Added to that, the guesses are being used in the context of a debate where the clear intent is to link the guesses as justification for the larger argument. It is a very cleverly lawyer trick, it is not sound debate tactics. You cannot make statements of "Fact" that x$ are being spent by the Government on Illegals to justify your position when you cannot quantify the number of illegals.
Basically is a self serving bit of propaganda. I guess there are X number of illegals. I feel that Illegals must be getting Y amount of Govt aid, therefore since Z is the total amount of Govt spending, ZxY MUST be total Govt spending on Illegals.
All you have to do is manufacture the highest number you feel you can get away for X and Y and presto alarming dangerous sounding sound bit for the "Report" that is all based on personal assumptions and feelings, not quantifiable data.

Well...too bad that when the story broke about Bush putting a 45 day hold on the records, BUSH was called all kinds of names, yet again, here on FR!!!
To: Bahbah
LOL. The "dose" is the Day in the Life of President Bush daily thread, but on some days it can feel like taking a mood altering drug, in a good way.Correct, and if you're a nice person Snugs will get you added to the ping list. I was just recently added and love this thread. No BS, just great pics and posts.
The dose is monitored quite closely and negative comments and/or trolls are not welcome at all.

Dobbs is no where near the Highest Rated CNN show. Larry King is and 11 of the top 12 are Fox shows. Dobbs is some where down around #15 or so.

I think one reason we don't hear anything about the Dream Act is because it is also one of Orrin Hatch's little babies...
So....when you have a powerful dem and a powerful GOP in love with the same BAD legislation, the rest probably just look the other way...unfortunately.

I would love to see one thread dedicated to the almost unfathomable amount of problems and atrocities that the Illegals have caused. it is not just Mexicans, but they are the biggest problem because they are the closest, and come in droves, unlike Canadians who are close but do not come in droves. If it is one thread of complaints then every other thread will not be hijacked. If you have a thread about osteoporosis, it will stay about that subject. We have too many things that concern America that are being ignored because of this issue. It must be solved so that we can move on to issues that instead of being solved are being left on the drawing board. My biggest hope is that the entire Summer will be spent with the formerly Sleeping Giants literally beating the Hell out of the Congress Critters with Faxes,Email,Phone calls, carrier pigeons,Sky writers,Goodyear blimp messageboard, etc. We can win the battle, we just cannot go wobbly.
