You are right on. What is interesting is that this entire campaign from Bosnia to where we are now, started back in 1948 or so.

It is thought that the missing link or connection between the Greater Albania created by Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini and U.S. support for the KLA/UCK ? This link according to history begins with the recruitment of the former Nazi-fascist members of the Balli Kombetar by the CIA and MI6 in 1948 in order to engineer a regime change in

Albania provides the origins and roots for US involvement in Kosovo and the creation of a Greater Albania or Ethnic Albania. The Balli Kombetar had been an ultra-nationalist, right-wing Greater Albania movement that had been created specifically to retain Kosovo as part of a Greater Albania. The issue of Kosovo and a Greater Albania was central to the Balli Kombetar movement. Operation Valuable/Fiend established the US government and CIA connections to the former Nazi/fascist leaders of Greater Albania, the Balli Kombetar, who are the forebears and precursors of the KLA Movement.

Operation Valuable/Fiend by the CIA and MI6 provides the missing link between the Greater Albania of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini and the Greater Albania created by the US, NATO and EU in the 1990s. Direct British and American involvement in Albania and the Balkans began with their support of anti-German and anti-Italian resistance and guerrilla groups during World War II. The goal was to undermine the German and Italian occupations. This required supporting the Communist resistance groups. In Albania, the US and UK supported the Communist movement headed by Enver Hoxha. They provided this support based on the principle of , “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Winston Churchill stated that the only criteria of support was whether the guerrillas were killing German soldiers.

The first major paramilitary operation by the CIA in the Cold War took place in Albania. The secret CIA operation was conducted in conjunction with British MI6 and was known by the codename Operation Valuable, or as BG/FIEND by the CIA. The operation was conceived by British intelligence to depose the Communist regime of Enver Hoxha. It was one of the first attempts at “regime change” during the Cold War in the “denied areas” or “captive nations”.

The US even sent aid and weapons to a Communist country. Following the 1948 split between Joseph Stalin and Josip Broz Tito, the Yugoslav government requested through CIA channels that the US provide arms to Yugoslavia, fearing an invasion by the USSR. Frank Lindsay, the Office of Policy Co-ordination (OPC) deputy to Frank Wisner, recalled: “Tito was the man for the West to back… We sent him five shiploads of weapons.”

Below is an article that came out in November 2005.

Balli Kombëtar Asks To Unify Kosova With Albania
14 Nov 2005 (Bota Sot) – Following the events that are developing these days in Kosova and about Kosova, while estimating UN-SC, NATO, EU, US and our friends engagements and engagement of Albania Parliament for solving the status of Kosova, Balli Kombëtar of Kosova in the meeting of National Council that was held on the 12 of November 2005, came up with some conclusions for the opinion:

1. Based on its status and its program and especially basing on its Dialogue Balli Kombëtar asks all Albanians to raise even more the feelings for National unity regarding ethnic Albania.

2. Balli Kombëtar asks Albanian Parliament to announce a resolution for joining Kosova with Albania.

3. Balli Kombëtar asks Kosova Parliament to announce a resolution for joining with Albania.

4. Balli Kombëtar asks all national institutions, centers for establishing new laws and orders in the world, to bring up these issues during the talks for the status:
a) To talk about returning Albanians to their ethnical territories in Toplica and other places, who were forced to move by Serbo-Sllave Army in 1875-1878.
b) To talk about returning “Çamë” Albanians to their territories in Çamëri, who were forced to move by Greece Army in 1923-1950.
c) To talk about indemnity that has been made to Albanians during the Serbian invading war’s from 1785-1999.

5. Balli Kombëtar thinks that it is a very important moment for mobilizing all international and national factors, to use historical documents that shows injustices that have been made for centuries for dividing Albanian territories in Balkans. Therefore we ask to strengthen international Charts for national rights, to live in their own countries. In this occasion, for Albanians should decide basing on their will and their legal right to live in one joint state.

6. Balli Kombëtar considers that one Albanian state in the Balkans and Europe would stabilize the entire region and with this they would secure peace and quietness for everyone.

Our involvement in the Balkans goes beyond Monica and Billy Boy. It's a deep, deep routed strategy and campaign.

Last I checked it was turning and facing Mecca and beleiving it's right for some old 'prophet' to marry and rape a 6 year old that constituted membership in the muslim 'faith', not where you're born.

Don’t tell me that this is important. Maybe you want to call them Yugoslavs?? You must be a true communist if so.

But let me guess you don’t want to call Serbian people “the Serbs” because you are afraid to not offend Muslims???

No I want to qualify whether they are ETHNIC-Serbs or simply people born IN SERBIA.

One could be BORN in Serbia and be an Ethnic-Bosnian or Ethnic-Albanian, and yes the former name for the territory could impact their citizenship while not affecting their ethnicty.

Furthermany of the ethnic Serbians in bosnia are for all intents and purposes Bosnians and Muslims. The Muslims, as was the case in all countries they invaded, proselytized through rape and forced marriages. So many of the decendants of these 'converts' live in Bosnia today, but are not culturaly nor religiously Serbian.

Could you stop meddling and answer the question? You know very well that I mean Orthodox Serbs and nobody else. You claim to be pro-Serbian but you refuse to call Serbian people “the Serbs”. LOL With such allies who needs enemies? I’m sure that the Muslims will be extremely grateful for your political correctness. /sarcasm

So, if I read you correctly, then the entire CIA strategy for "managing the Balkans" can be summed up as:

"When fascism is in power, back the communists, and when communism is in power, back the fascists"

Is that correct?

Actually I'm on an Orthodox mailing list with a Croation who is intent to point out that there are Serb Muslims in Bosnia, that's why I make the distinction. Said Croatian was intent to pin the crimes of Serbian Muslims outside Serbia on Serbs in general.

If they are Orthodox, then yeah i'd call em Serbs.

Unless Americans finally stand up and fight, this is what could happen to the American Southwest in another 20 years. OF course, the Serbs did fight but Clinton would not let them win. How sad.

BINGO! I’m deeply touched, I feel like a father of your success. Thank you for sharing with me the obvious thing that the Serbs are the Serbs. It was not easy for you to come to this conclusion but with my help you did it! My satisfaction is even bigger.

The definition of "a Serb" historically had always been based on "being a Serbian Orthodox Christian" -- and Bosnia was the original proving ground for this idea.

Bosnian Serbs were baptized as Serbian Orthodox Christians on the ground on which they stood-- IN Bosnia. But (especially in Bosnia) if you converted from Serbian Orthodoxy to something else -- Catholicism or Islam -- you were no longer considered "a Serb". Likewise, the Muslims and Croats looked at it the same way -- you were no longer "a Croat" if you converted to something else. So being "a Serb" has never had anything to do with being "from Serbia". (The distinction between "being from Serbia" vs. "being a Serb" --from anywhere -- exist in the Serbo-Croat language(s) as well, so this is not just "American intellectualism").

It is only the recent generation -- communist and post-communist -- who sees "Serbian Orthodoxy" as only some sort of "optional add-on" to the geographic and ethnic identities as "Serbs".

And this is also why you see some Montenegrins saying that they are "not Serbs" -- because they only see themselves in the light of politics and geography, not their religious Faith. Some just can't see the connection of Faith as mattering that much anymore. But as I have pointed out to many Montenegrins, if they choose that "Montenegrin only" outlook, then they cut the connection between themselves and their own heroic historical figures like Njegos and Prince Danilo -- who all considered themselves "Serbs".

Being "a Serb" where ever you are geographically -- including in the US or Canada -- ONLY makes sense if it is based on being a Serbian Orthodox Christian. And there is only a "unity of the Serbs" if you see it's structure much like Orthodoxy itself -- some of us are "the hands", some of us are "the feet", but we are all of "one body".

Ok. I'll get off my soapbox now.

BB

Just out of curiosity, as there are Serbian Orthodox churches in America, say an Irish Catholic converts to Serbian Orthodoxy, are they now Serbian?

You know Ohio, I think that we, as Americans, are so confused about "who we are" and "what we represent as a people", that we are easy for politicians and the media to manipulate. They play our emotions like a violin and we wind up doing anything to please them -- and ourselves.

Re the NATO Bombing of Yugoslavia, that was exactly why we all backed it -- we wanted to see ourselves as "heroes protecting the underdog from the big bad guy"; we wanted to "altruistically liberate a people from an oppressor".

In short, for once, we wanted to be "our fathers" who fought for justice from tyranny during WWII. Not only were so many allusions to WWII to made by the media from the ealy 1990's on -- "deathcamps, ethnic cleansing, Nazis" -- hell, even Clinton and Blair, tried to assume to FDR and Churchill roles -- making us all forget our post-Vietnam hangover, and instead become a part of "a just war" -- "a WWII" --and a war that we could win without much sacrifice on our part as long as we got to "play the part". This all appealed to our narcissism, and it worked.

Now we have the same problems as the Serbs do. Southern California is quickly becoming an early-stage "Kosovo". So now what?

Until we really figure out who we are and what we really stand for, we won't find an answer that works.

They are "a Serb", yes.

Here in CA, there was a guy who was half-Albanian & half-Croat by blood, and he was originally Catholic by religion. He had converted to Serbian Orthodoxy during WWII and joined Mihailovich's forces. He was born and raised in Dubrovnik and came to the US post-war. That guy not only became "a Serb", he was elected the president of the Oakland Serbian Orthodox Church twenty years ago -- and his last name is Albanian.

Likewise for a Scot without a drop of Serb blood who was raised in Scotland and came to the US in his twenties. He married a Serb girl, converted and also became a church president here in CA.

Unfortunately, since the last wars, the wave of Serb refugees who have come to our churches here in the US and find so much seemingly "non-Serb" (translate: "non-Yugoslav")about us, have not liked it. But then again, many of these refugees only learned to cross themselves about fifteen minutes ago, so what do they know?

It's an interesting scenerio. It seems to me they CAN become Serbs if they embrace the ethnic traditions as well but I have troubling seeing it as a given.

Would you say the same of Russians and ROCOR or MP parishes?
