To be clear, Air America will not go silent on the New York City airwaves. They are working on a pirate radio station broadcast from an apartment in Brooklyn.< /sarc>

I would say this is big news. How on earth could AA not make it in the biggest liberal city in America?

Guess we'll see a big push by the media to draw attention to the Fairness in Broadcasting Act or whatever it was called.

Not surprising--I read this morning that their ratings went from 1.6 to 1.0 in NYC, a loss of 1/3 of their audience.
That reminds me--I gotta look at my local AA station's ratings. They usually rank just below the all-sports-all-the-time station, but above the spanish-language christian radio station.

Air America to Lose NY Flagship on Aug. 31 How can one tell? Were they ever really on the air? Did anyone listen to them? If no one listened, how can they claim to have done a broadcast?

For the record, there is another thread where women seek to get pregnant by the 5,000 year old iceman.
strange things happen.
So I wouldn't count AA out until the last second of the last minute on the appointed day.
