Tehran (dpa) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Monday called on Jews in israeli to go back to their countries of origin and allow Palestinians to return to their homelands.
``Anti-Semitism in Europe has forced Jews leave their countries of origin - but what they did instead was occupy a country which is not theirs but that of Palestinians,'' Ahmadinejad said in a press conference in Tehran.
He said that the dilemma in the Middle East could be settled only within a ``just peace plan'', but this first required the return of all Palestinians to their homelands and then a referendum.
``The fact is that Israel can eventually not continue its existence,'' he said.
While adopting a softer tone than before about the Holocaust, he still demanded a free evaluation of its real extent ``in order to find the ultimate truth.''
``We are sorry for any human being killed in the two world wars, we respect Moses as we respect Jesus, but it is just unacceptable that the Palestinians should suffer from the aftermath,'' Ahmadinejad said.
He blamed the West for branding him as ``war-monger'' simply for demanding what he said were the rights of the suppressed nation of Palestine.
What about telling the "Palestinians" to go back where they came from?

They could go back to Egypt where they lived before Pharoah set them free but I don't think the egyptians are too keen on giving up their land.

How long have Jews been in Israel? About 5,000 years. That is "where they came from." They never left.

The so-called "Palestians" are Arabs. Nothing more, nothing less. And last time I checked, there were plenty of Arab states.

Well, I still like my idea of creating a new Israel here in the United States - a very special strip of land 2000 miles long and two miles wide with deep-water ports on the Pacific and Gulf of Mexico, and the Israelis can have the land for free as long as they take over security on the strip's southern border. ;)
I heard the same disinformation from an Iranian engineer that I worked with 25 years ago, and he was BORN IN THE USA. They hear propaganda in the mosque claiming there were no Jews in Israel prior to WWII. He was unaware that at the time of partition in 1947 about half of the population of Transjordan, a British protectorate, was Jewish. Jews were given about 20% of the land in Transjordan, mainly the area along the coast where they were settled. The Arabs got the rest, now the country of Jordan.
Hmmm, considering the ancestors of the Jews are thought by some historians to have originated in Mesopotamia, I'm sure Mr. Whatshisname would like to reconsider his request.
If he finds 150,000 Americans right next door to be somewhat uncomfortable, I'm sure he'd find 150,000 Americans AND the entire State of Israel infinitely moreso.

And why were the Jews in Europe? Could it be because they had been forced out of what had BEEN their home (Judea) for centuries?
I don't remember reading how the Jews, when they arrived in 1948, ran off all the people who had been living in the area that the BRITISH had re-named Palestine. Seems to me, their fellow Arabs scared the bejeebers out of them with stories of what the Jews would do to them, and sent them running onto the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, but then would not let them into their fellow Arabs' countries. So the 'Palestinians' were forced to sit in makeshift refugee camps and live in squalor while their fellow Arabs beat their breasts and screamed about the mean nasty Jews.
The 'Palestinians' who stayed were able, for the most part, to go about their business, until the Arabs began growing their own terrorists from those camps and attacking Jews in the new state of Israel. That's when the Jews began being suspicious of the 'Palestinians', and rightly so. After all, the Jews weren't continually calling for the annihilation of the 'Palestinian people'.
