Tony Snow offered White House Job
Heard on the John Gibson radio program
Posted on 04/18/2006 5:48:13 PM PDT by yellowdoghunter
I just heard on the John Gibson radio program that Tony Snow has been offered McClellan's job at the White House. He has not made a decision but will discuss it on his radio program tomorrow.
I didn't see this posted. Just posting what I heard. No link.

Tony, I'm getting ready to set up the show thread for the day and I got this post that you might be considered for WH Press Secretary. I don't know you at all personally, except that in listening to you, you are uncommonly decent and perhaps the best factual communicator since Reagan.
I know that dealing the WH Press Corps is a thankless task, but those of us who are in your audience would listen every day and know that what you are saying is right. YOU can help your country and if you are physically and mentally up to the challenge, I hope you will take it.
Your country needs you now...

Oh CRAP! I forgot to mention something!
IF you decide to take the job, a bit of advice:
Watch a few episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000 right before you're to go and engage the press. It'll encourage fast, quick and funny snappy comebacks to the situations. Here's a thread with a few examples in the posts:

It works for me. I keep my Wife cracking up every day -and it's NOT because I look funny, but it helps.

Well, kudos for the new chief of staff for looking for a replacement for the fat, pasty-faced incompetent that is Scott McClellan.

Yeah, this is a good sign. Almost makes you wish it'd happened, say, before the Harriet Miers mess. That one eventually was traced straight back to Andy Card, as I recall.

Tony, I line up with those here who express joy at the prospect of you taking that job from my own selfish point of view. More importantly I want to agree wholeheartedly with those that say you must make the decision that is right you your family and you, without any other consideration overriding that.
I'd love to have you there as I know you'd do a spectacular job, the job that we've all been saying needed to be done, but you must (and I know you will) do what you think is right. If staying with radio is the right thing for you to do it is the right thing for you to do.
But you are NOT Will Kane. You don't have to take it all on yourself. Whether you take the job or stay on air, remember you've got lots of friends and supporters, a few of them here. And we'll continue to pray for and with you, regardless of your decision.
Oh, and if you take the job, keep a freeper email channel open for us. <g>

When I heard it on the John Gibson radio program I was just getting ready to get online to do some work and thought for sure FR would have more about the story. I was shocked when I did not see anything about it, so decided to post something to see what was up.
I am surprised it had not been posted yet since it apparently had been reported several times that day. Of course, I did not catch any news until later in the day.
