The more things change, the more they remain the same.
Severus = Sadaam Hussein
Caracalla & Geta = Uday and Qusay
Scots = Kurds
All 3 men were responsible for killing large numbers of those who did not agree with them, in many cruel ways. Often through trickery and subterfuge, as well as directly.

Prominent among the imperial retinue were his sons Antoninus, then aged 20, and Geta, 19. No two brothers have ever hated each other more than these two. As the contemporary Roman historian Cassius Dio put it: The sons of Severus
went to all lengths in their conduct. They outraged women and abused boys, they embezzled money and made gladiators and charioteers their boon companions, emulating each other in the similarity of their deeds, but full of strife in their rivalries; for if the one attached himself to a certain faction, the other would be sure to choose the opposite side
Interesting, they sound like the must have written an instruction manual for Saddams sons.

Using logic on this, I think I have solved the mystery. It stated that these men were all taller than normal. More than likely they had the regular standard size coffin issue and these people would not fit in them. Therefore with a little field expedient modification, instead of ordering larger coffins with a different stock number, they just took care of things the best way they could and made them fit.
