I always enjoy a good gun thread, and I wanted to start one today. I would like to know what kind of experience anyone has had with this new pistol, or any other Springfield Armory pistol for that matter.
I've drooled over it on the website before, but today was the first time I was able to lay hands on it. It's one beautiful piece of ugly and I want one, but I have never been around a Springfield product before. Any thoughts would be helpful before I go and lay down some cash for this.
What's ugly about it ???
Sorry guy...gun porn is on Friday, or possibly Thursday if connected to some real world application, then running through the weekend.
Try to keep up, will ya :^>
Haven't seen this model, but my Springfield 1911 is the best .45 I've fired, and the M-1A is a superb rifle.
Check out this thread

I'm watching the reviews to see if the new coating is as durable as the Glock and, hopefully, carries over to the rest of the XD family.
Picture for all those interested.
An interesting thread here --> http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=33000&hl=xd
14 rounds? That's amazing.
It's not the prettiest gun in the world, but I can't take my eyes off of it. It's kind of blocky, but it fits real nice in my hands.
Thanks for the pic.....I forgot all about it and was just getting ready to post one.
Thanks, I was also looking at the SOCOM 16 model, but that's quite a few pay checks away.
A good fit is important. You can drive yourself crazy trying to gain proficiency with a "better" gun if it doesn't fit your hand.
Thanks, great info.
I'm partial to the bi-toned .45 myself. May have to go out and buy a gun this weekend.
Interestingly, that scissor-type trigger safety may be a detracting feature. I've not heard good things about those, as Glock has it perfected and patented (if I'm not mistaken).
The .40 is a natural point for me. I'll have to look into this one even though I'm not a fan of the .45.
I know, I know. Blasphemy.
MY VANITY >>>>
Does anyone know of a brass cased .45 ACP Snake Shot round?
It looks bigger in the picture on the website, but it's actually a bit smaller than I expected. It fits real nice. I don't have the largest frame hands, so the feel of it is important. It didn't look like it would be too big for concealed carry either. And, if you buy it new it comes with an XD holster that looks almost like a Yaqui style holster.
