Our Military Remains Ever Loyal And Strong. Much Of Our National Media Does Not.
Said President Eisenhower, fifty-years ago: History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. We Americans can sleep safely in our beds, to paraphrase George Orwell, because freedoms defenders, our courageous military members, are neither weak nor timid. They are the most powerful, yet most compassionate, military force on the planet. Add to that: individual courage, pride and a voluntary commitment to serve our great nation, regardless of sacrifice. Here are but a few examples of Americas finest. Voices of those who have battled, and sacrificed to the fullest, against todays disciples of evil.
Marine Corporal Jeffrey Starr, killed on his third tour of duty in Iraq, left the following on his laptop: I dont regret going. Everybody dies, but few get to do it for something as important as freedom. Army PFC Kevin Jones, killed near Baghdad, wrote a year earlier: We were not forced to serve in the Armed Forces, we volunteered. We stand ready to protect and watch over you . Said Army Captain Jeff Toz-lowski, in an email to be sent should he die: Dont ever think you are defending me by slamming the global war on terrorism. We can go after them or we can wait for them to come here again. I died doing something I believed in, and have no regrets except that I couldn't do more. And Army Sergeant Michael Carlson, killed in Iraq, wrote in his 12th grade life-goals assignment: I want my life to (count) I want to help people. I want to fight for something that is greater than myself. I want to be a soldier . We must all thank God for men and women such as these, who have stood strong, perished as heroes, ever committed to the words of patriot Thomas Paine: If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace.
Recently, CBS Sixty Minutes anchor Mike Wallace featured 5 young men and women in service, who had suffered life-altering injuries in the war against terrorism. All but one, enthused about new doors opening and moving forward. One of them, Army Staff Sergeant Jessica Clements suffered a serious head wound, still deals with pain, and had to re-learn all the basics. Jessica said she'd like to work for the VA or DAV, so I can help other veterans. I'm still a soldier at heart. A surprised Mike Wallace uttered an incredulous What? Jessica repeated: I'm still a soldier, and although medically discharged, I'm always gonna be a soldier. Clearly stunned by her devotion to serve, and certainly not wanting to end the segment on a positive note, the producers held-back the one wounded interviewee against the Iraq War in order for him to bat clean-up, ensuring a negative conclusion, in keeping with the big-media playbook.
Not only do most of the mainstream media no longer reflect mainstream America, along with their fringe-left political bunk-mates, they've become far less credible and relevant by vengefully-pursuing partisan destruction of the Bush administration, even at the expense of national security, a despicable trade-off, for all involved. A self-impressed agenda made crystal-clear last week with their tantrum over the Cheney accident, while virtually ignoring conflicted-patriot Al Gores pander-and-trash-for-cash routine over in Saudi Arabia, home to 15 of the 19 September 11th murderers. Highly-respected columnist Thomas Sowell nailed it, when he labeled especially the D.C.-based whiners as (quote): the spoiled-brat media.
Its always been our great military that has kept us sovereign and free, no thanks to the bulk of todays national media, who are thankfully, now, being pushed to the curb by new information alternatives, both traditional and internet-based. Its our courageous military members who bear the burden of incarcerating or incinerating the lunatic barbarians whose death-wish will forever be to kill us. Said President Reagan: No arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. Thank heavens for those brave and patriotic men and women who continue to step forward, don the uniform of our nation, and do whatever it takes to preserve our freedom and our future.
FYI....
What? 60 Minutes couldn't find 5 soldiers to interview who fit their agenda? Man, CBS is slipping.
Cheers and hurrahs for the brave men and women of the United States military!
"Dont ever think you are defending me by slamming the global war on terrorism"
GREAT QUOTE!
Absolutely 100% good stuff.
We watched that 60 Minutes -- only because hubby saw a promo for it and it caught his eye. Mike Wallace should be strung up. What a freaking moron and we caught on right away that they held back the negative til the last for just the reasons stated in this article. The reason why the media morons don't "get it" is because they have never once in their life thought about someone other than themselves and how they are presented. These soldiers think of others before themselves every day. No wonder the media doesn't understand them! Mike Wallace isn't fit to lick SSG Clements' boots, IMNSHO.
"Marine Corporal Jeffrey Starr, killed on his third tour of duty in Iraq, left the following on his laptop: I dont regret going. Everybody dies, but few get to do it for something as important as freedom."
God Bless all of our people. I'm Praying for a Marine Lance Corporal everyday that is on his third tour also. My younger Brothers and Sisters are the BEST of the BEST and AMERICA is still here because of what they do for us everyday.
Too bad the RINO's won't allow the "white flag" ad to be run again.
