The defence lawyers assigned to ex-Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic have asked for the former NATO commander General Wesley Clark to be recalled to the witness stand for further questioning.
Clark testified in December 2003, during the prosecution stage of the Milosevic trial. He told the court that he spoke with the accused following the massacre of Muslim prisoners from the town of Srebrenica by Bosnian Serb troops in 1995, and was led to believe that Milosevic had known in advance what would happen.
He also gave evidence about Milosevics relationship with Serbs in Bosnia in the early Nineties and spoke about the role the accused later played in the Kosovo conflict.
In their latest submission, filed on February 10, defence lawyers Steven Kay and Gillian Higgins, whose assistance is imposed on Milosevic against his will, objected to the fact that questioning of Clark at the time was restricted to the contents of a statement he had given to prosecutors.
By pressing for such restrictions, they argued, The prosecution and the [United States] government structured the appearance of General Clark in the trial in such a way that only issues in support of the prosecutions case could be adduced.
Kay and Higgins want Milosevic to be allowed to question the general about a series of matters relating to NATOs bombing campaign against Yugoslavia in 1999, which Clark himself commanded.
These issues include Milosevics contention that the air strikes constituted an illegal act of aggression, that NATO was operating in conjunction with the rebel Kosovo Liberation Army, and that the bombing caused damage, casualties and refugee flows which were later blamed on the Yugoslav authorities.
After Kay and Higgins filed their submission, the trial chamber gave them seven days to submit further information about how they thought a second appearance by Clark should be organised, and what measures they had taken to secure his testimony.
The US embassy in The Hague has since written to the court, reminding judges of Washington's desire to protect sensitive information and legitimate national interests" and seeking leave to file a lengthier written submission on the matter.
Hope they get Clark and can highlight his gross incompetence.
My incompetence. LOL
Make the weasel's life as miserable as hell...for as long as it takes.

WESLEY CLARK EXCHANGES HATS WITH CONVICTED BOSNIAN WAR CRIMINAL
On August 27, 1994, Clark, then director of strategy, plans and policy for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, went to Banja Luka - and met with Ratko Mladic, the bloodstained military leader of the Bosnian Serbs. (My note: everybody apparently forgets that before Serbia's the aggression in Bosnia the same Ratko Mladic was military commander of the Serbian army ("Yugoslav Peoples Army") in Croatia and conducted large scale massacres of Croatian civillians there, especially in the ethnically "cleansed of Croatian population "Krajina", another Serb-proclaimed "republic"). The State Departement had advised against the meeting, on account of Mladic's well-documented war crimes in Gorazde, Srebrenica and Sarajevo. Still, Clark and Mladic had a jolly time. Mladic gave Clark some plum brandy and a pistol with a Cyrillic inscription, and the two merrily swapped military hats. What do you do with a man with that kind of moral cluelessness? Promote him.
Do you know if the way the bombing campaign was run by Clark had anything to do with him finally being relieved of command?
I think he was relieved because his bosses did not trust him.
I like him better than Hitlery, but that's not saying a lot.
Or could it be because he nearly kicked off WW III when he ordered a NATO General from the UK to attack the Russians landing at the airport in Pristina. Fortunately, the General disobeyed despite Clark's attempts to call Washington and force the issue.
They are looking for more than just Clark. They want to expose the whole Clinton lie and his illegal bombing of Serbs. This could get good. Te fact that Clark refused to answer questions and stuck to a script is a miscarriage of justice. Slobodan Milosevic has been rail roaded and if this were an American court, he'd be free right now.
I remember something about that but I don't remember it being played up in the press.
My note: everybody apparently forgets that before Serbia's the aggression in Bosnia the same Ratko Mladic was military commander of the Serbian army ("Yugoslav Peoples Army") in Croatia and conducted large scale massacres of Croatian civillians there, especially in the ethnically "cleansed of Croatian population "Krajina", another Serb-proclaimed "republic")
Bah!!! The croatians (Muslims) were not victims of any genocide. Aparently by not mentioning the relentless terrorist attacks endured for decades by the Serbs didn't happen if not mentioned.
Many of them were ex patriots of Husainni's Muslim Waffen ss division.
There's a reason he's being re-called. Betcha they've got enought to prove he gave false testimony.
There goes his Secretary of Defense appointment from Hillary, LOL.
All this would make me so ecstatic, let me tell ya.
Leni
Gen. Michael Jackson.
We see how Muslims are acting around the world today, and have been for many decades for that matter) what would you say if Norways said "enough is enough" and started chasing out the muslims in their country? We know what Bill Clinton and Wesly Clark would do, Bomb them!!!
If you are so inclined (assuming it's even possible), take a trip down memory lane to 1998/1999 on FreeRepublic.
Several of us were debunking Generalissimo Clark literally in real time as he was making press announcements.
The irony is that the loud mouth hippies that complained about the government lies at the time of Vietnam now run the media and didn't want to hear the truth during Beelzebubba's non-UN approved bombing of Kosovo and Serbia.
And believe me, there was plenty of debate on those old Balkans threads. That debate never made it to congress or the media.
Nathan, I'm on your side with respect to the event that occured in the Balkans throughout the 90's.
The text under the Clark picture is from StrangeCosmos. You can disagree with the description of Mladic but it was apparent even at the time that Clark should not have been pictured with him, much less swapping covers.
A pox on both their houses.
That's the quote.
