Most voters now say there's no way they'd vote for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton if she runs for president in 2008 - while just 16 percent are firmly in her camp, a stunning new poll shows.
CNNGALLUP found that 51 percent say they definitely won't vote for Clinton (D-N.Y.) in 2008, another 32 percent might consider it, and only 16 percent vow to back her. That means committed anti-Hillary voters outnumber pro-Hillary voters by 3-1. The poll suggests she can forget about crossover votes - 90 percent of Republicans and 75 percent of conservatives say there's no way they'd back her.
Meanwhile, 46% said they would oppose Secretary of State Rice if she ran for President - a step Rice has repeatedly said she won't take.

I've been saying this for months...so many on here are all, "Ooh, who can we put up who'll beat Hillary?" "Who's gonna stop Hillary?"
Horseradish.
Not only won't Hillary Clinton be President, she won't even be the Democratic nominee in '08.

For certain a Hillary nomination will fire up the base.
The conservative base.

"...75 percent of conservatives say there's no way they'd back her"
Clearly 25% of the 'conservatives' they polled are NOT conservative.

I think it's safe to assume the vast majority of males aren't firm for Hillary. |

Once the liberal media goes 1000% pro-Hillary in 2008, these poll numbers will change.

This is not a shock to anyone who's paid attention in the last 14 years. People hyping Hillary on this site were always full of it.

Who are the last two Democrats to be elected President in the past 40 years? Southern Governors--Carter and Clinton. Keep your eye on Mark Warner and maybe Evan Bayh.

I think the other 25% of the "conservatives" answered in a way that was unprintable, or else killed the pollster.

Hillary has no chance, the more left wing the more the dem candidate loses by. hillary knows this which is why she is obviously moving to the center, but that simply won't work.
I believe Hillary would be the easiest Dem candidate to beat.

It would be a cold day in Hell (approaching absolute zero), before I'd even vote for her for dogcatcher.
That said, she is crashing way too soon. I think she might be the easiest candidate to defeat.
To: TheBigB
Feingold will be the nominee.

Agreed. I've heard enough rank-and-file Dem aquaintances say that they won't vote for her to know that she's toast. The Dems would be doing us a favor to run her in 2008. I'd be a lot more worried about Bayh or Warner...
