The "Superhumans" that we face in this War (Vanity)
History | EarlyBird

Posted on 12/29/2005 4:11:06 PM PST by EarlyBird

When the Marines stormed Guadalcanal, they thought they would be facing "Superhuman" Japanese defenders.

Seven thousand U.S. Marines were lost in that battle, but thirty thousand Japanese were killed. Who were the "Superhumans"?

Why did the Marines think they were up against "Superhumans" at Guadacanal? The media filled their unblooded head with that notion.

The same notion filled the heads of the 101st Airborne Division when they landed, in massive disarray, in Normandy in June 1944.

Where did they get the idea that their emeny was "Superhuman"? You guessed it -- the media.

If it was true that the enemy soldiers were "Superhuman" as the media reported, what does it mean when we defeated all of these enemies?

Does that mean the American fighting men are "Super-Superhuman"?

Well, I always disagree with the media. But simple logic tells me that if American fighting men defeated all of these "Superhuman" races (including the Iraqi Republican Guard, don't forget), then the American Fighting Man is the real Superhuman in this world.

Think about it.

It means we were the agressors victimizing those poor innocent people. This is the MSM we're talking about here....

My grandfather told me that he felt that disbelief that someone who try to kill them got a lot of new soldiers killed in Europe. Of course they got over that belief pretty quickly when bullets started flying and buddies started dying.

Change europe to iraq and a few of the names and places and there are few media outlets today that wouldn't publish this as "news"

Look out for China. They'll have us outnumbered ten to one pretty soon while we spend all our funds buying drugs for geezers and importing oil we should be drilling for here off the coast of FL, CA, and ANWR.

You're sounding a lot like the media of the early 1940s -- "We can never win -- they're superhuman!".

Yet we won anyway. And we won decisively. And -- don't ever forget this part of the whole WWII -- we won the damn five-year-old war after only two years of having ground troops in the theaters.

Yes, the media sucks. And obviously, they've always sucked.

My point is that American fighting men can take on any comer. American people will overcome any setback. American people are the "Superhumans"!

BRING IT ON!

Well, the Japanese "Marines"- Special Naval Landing Force (SNLF) commandos- were quite impressive compared to their regular army. SNLF commandos were hand picked, none of them under six feet tall, and tough enough to carry artillery and other heavy weapons on their backs through the jungle. But "supermen?" Not even close.
Even Hitler's SS "ubermenchen" had a fatal flaw- if you put a bullet in them, they would die.
All "Aryan" really means is white skin, slightly longer life span, slightly lower fertility rates, and a few extra IQ points. Doesn't exactly qualify one as a superman, does it?

I didn't say we couldn't win, but could we at least stop selling them our gummint notes and sending them money for their products?

They send us stuff, we send them I.O.U.'s. Who's making out on that deal?

If they get out of line, we refuse to pay on the I.O.U.'s. How are they going to make us? What's so hard to understand about that concept?

What the hell are you talking about? Our media in WWII was all about "Slap a Jap" and ethnic stereotypes of bright yellow, myopic, bucktoothed enemies.

PS. Learn to spell.

Who is going to be the first FReeper to post a "predictions for 2006" thread?

I'm just curious!

Then, nobody else will buy our IOUs. That's one good way to end the oil importation and crash the confidence in the dollar.

On the OTHER hand....that would also be a good way to defund a major portion of the BS the gummint is doing.

Both the Japanese and German's thought they were 'supermen'.

They underestimated the fighting qualities of the U.S. soldier, sailor and airman.
