Dean Scream II
Investor's Business Daily ^ | December 6, 2005

Posted on 12/07/2005 9:34:54 AM PST by West Coast Conservative

Top Democrat Howard Dean contends America can't win in Iraq. His absurd ideas on military deployment would mean never winning anywhere.

Dean's on-stage scream after losing in the Iowa caucuses in January 2004 came to symbolize the collapse of his presidential bid. This week, the Democratic National Committee chairman was interviewed on a San Antonio radio station and came out with a new rant that's at least as wacky — and dangerously irresponsible — as anything he yelled then.

Comparing Iraq to Vietnam, Dean said: "The idea that we're going to win the war in Iraq is an idea which is just plain wrong."

Among those who disagree are Iraq's president and prime minister, who know a timetable for withdrawal could lead to a terrorist victory. Coming only a week and a half before Iraq's elections, Dean's remarks raise the question of what's more important to him and his supporters: a victory for America or political gain for his party.

It also makes one wonder how many Vietnams Dean thinks the U.S. can endure.

The really crazy stuff, though, was the glimpse of Dean's vision of national security. He called for an immediate withdrawal of 80,000 National Guard and Reserve troops, claiming "They don't belong in a conflict like this anyway."

Why not? Would Dean wait for an invasion of our homeland before activating our Guard and Reserves? He also wants to move 20,000 troops to Afghanistan because "it's a place where we are welcome." So we should deploy our forces only where they will be welcome? Not a very Churchillian notion.

Crazier still, Dean called for "a force in the Middle East, not in Iraq but in a friendly neighboring country to fight (al-Qaida military chief Abu Musab) Zarqawi, who came to Iraq after this invasion."

Dr. Dean needs to prescribe himself some antipsychotic medication.

One thing I've been wondering ever since this talk of redeploying in other "friendly" Arab countries started is why idiots like Dean think that some other country would welcome US forces into their countries after we turned tail and ran from Iraq.

Every rat running (with the exception of rat-pelosi herself) will try to distance themselves from rat-dean and rat-pelosi in 2006.

We'll see how successful they are at actually doing it.

Howlin' Howie comes through again for us. I just hope we (i.e., Pres. Bush) can convince the Iraqis that Dean and the other cowardly cut-and-runners don't speak for the American people and that, yes, we will keep our word and complete the task in Iraq. I also hope the RNC is taping all this cr*p from Dean, Pelosi, Kerry, etc. to use in campaign advertising in 06 and 08. It's great stuff to show that the dems can never, EVER be trusted with our national security.

''The idea that the United States is going to win the war in Iraq is just plain wrong,"--Howard Dean

Contact Chris Wallace or Hannity and have them play the tape and then ask some leading Dems (Reid, Kennedy, etc):

Does Howard Dean speak for the DNC?

Does he speak for YOU????

The 'scream' was the alarm bell that was a wake up call for sure... Fortunately, the American people realized that he was a whacko and was a danger if put into a leadership position. It sounds better put to music

I am just praying that somehow, someone in the GOP will find the cojones to USE all of this stuff...

My goodness, Dean, Pelosi, Kerry and Murtha, are handing the GOP their Christmas presents early!!!!

They need to take up where the House left off, right before Thanksgiving with the genius move of making the dems vote on withdrawal...

HO HO HO

Yea, the only chance the turncoat GOP has to win is if the socialist Democrats keep demonstrating how anti-American they really are.

How sad.

He (Dean) also wants to move 20,000 troops to Afghanistan because "it's a place where we are welcome."

Thats his criteria for troop deployment strategy?

The Democrats have gone from championing the underdog, to advocating losing as the American way, and finally, that losing is everything, and the only thing. That is the liberal/left's new mantra and appeal only to the losers of the world -- as their base and unifying principle.

The problem is that America (and the world for that matter) is not producing losers but winners -- so they have a shrinking pool of possible recruits -- although those tend to be very vocal and visible disproportionate to their actual numbers because those are the people the media showcases because they are untiring in their whining, screaming and manipulative, deceptive shenanigans.
