We've made our list and checked it twice - Blue Christmas is here! If you are new to BuyBlue, you might be asking yourself what "Blue Christmas" is all about.
Retailers make a significant portion of their yearly sales during the Christmas season. At this time of the year, we have the greatest opportunity to vote for our values with our wallets and have retailers take notice. Last year, many of us did just that, and retailers and news organizations definitely took notice.
This year we have put together a list of the companies most deserving of our patronage, based on all the factors we track on our site. The result is the Blue Christmas 2005 list, a sort of "Editor's List" of products and services we recommend. You can also find information on nearly 500 companies, representing more than 1100 brands and products.
Well that can cut both ways.
Blue is too manly a color. Shouldn't it be "Buy Pink" to recognize the homosexual agenda of these DUmmies?
Aren't the the ones that wanted to boycott GE lightbulbs 'cause GE had defense contracts and built nuclear stuff?

In the past year Buyblue has become a shopping list of sorts and we are striving to make all our data even more accessible. This year we have put together a list of the companies most deserving of our patronage, based on all the factors we track on our site. We encourage you to spend money on local, independent and small companies wherever and whenever possible; however, if this is not an option, please use our list as a reference for national and chain companies. We've put together several print-friendly items to take along when you're shopping this holiday season. You'll find a one-page flyer in both color and black and white versions that you can take with you or share with friends and family. You'll also find a wallet-sized list that you can print from home. With this list, we hope that you'll be able to put your money where your values are, and vote with your wallets. Please share this list with your loved ones and discuss it with local organizations in which you may be involved. Most importantly, use the list to shop this Christmas season, and let these retailers know why you have chosen to patronize them. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or none of the above we hope you have a safe and enjoyable time with your friends and family this holiday season.

Looked at the list...not a problem. They really don't have much on the list, do they? A couple of surprises--Southwest Airlines. I can't avoid them since they're the main airline out of town. Fry's Electronics is a big surprise--those guys are the epitome of capitalism. They make Wal*Mart look like pikers.

Fry's donates parking lot space for PCs for Peace
Fry's electronics is among the donation sites for a World Computer Exchange Fall 2002 collection drive of working computers for youth in developing countries. Joel Byers of Fry's Electronics noted: "Fry's loves the idea that people shopping with us to upgrade their monitors and computers can now donate their old computers to such a good cause and receive a tax deduction as well. We hope that the world will become a safer and better place as children of the US and distant countries get to know each other online."
I have absolutely no problem with Fry's Electronics doing that...and can't see why any conservative should...provided the computers are actually donated to youth...and not Mohammed working on chemical weapons "for peace."
Levi Strauss, Sonic, and Subway are on there. hhhmmmm .. I can cut back on Sonic and Subway (it will be tough)... but they can have my levi jeans when the pull them off my cold dead buttocks. It will take more than making the buyblue list for that one. If Cindy Sheehan did a tv spot for them... that may convince me to switch to .... uuuu It may cause me to buy ... uuuu ... (does anyone else make pants?)

In year 2002, Southwest Airlines' 12-member law department was 25 percent people of color and 50 percent women.

Southwest Airlines helps the environment by recycling all cabin waste.

Seems like a smart marketing ploy to me. In fact, I have a ton of old PC hardware that I'd love to chuck but can't bring myself to toss in the landfill.
I don't see anything there to take them off of the "red" list. I think that the libs have so few "blue" choices that they have to pad it. LOL
Click on the links to read why these companies are being endorsed. For example, Fry's Electronics helps kids in developing countries get used computers. Not all those being endorsed are because they promote homosexuality, tree-hugging, abortion, etc. The list contains some companies there are engaged in rather innocuous activities.
Southwest Airlines...I think this list is based on much more than political contributions.."Blue" is deceptive.

Bingo! As a red-stater, I wouldn't use the list to boycott the companies.
I'd actually research the stores first. There are some obvious leftists on the list (Starbucks) and others that are not so obvious (Claire's Stores gave 100% of its campaign contributions to Democrats).
