The March Of The Blogs
The New York Post ^ | 11-09-05 | Hugh Hewitt

WITHIN minutes of her nomination to replace Justice Sandra Day O'Connor on the Supreme Court, White House Counsel Harriet Miers was the subject of a blogs warm of disappointed conservatives who immediately launched an effort to force her to withdrawal her own nomination.

NationalReview.com's group blogs "The Corner" and "Bench Memos," the blog ConfirmThem.com and the posters at FreeRepublic.com kept up a steady stream of criticism, much of it serious and thoughtful, some of it thuggish and false.

Methinks that Hugh Hewitt is still angry at being out-argued and out-gunned by the pajamahadeen.

No doubt with all that mass of people chipping in some of the charges were false. You can't have ten thousand contributers without a few bad apples creeping in. But the false arguments were quickly shredded by opponents, while the credible ones remained operative, and that's what brought the president to reconsider the nomination and the candidate to withdraw.

Finally, there was just no arguing with Harriet Miers's own writings, which the White House evidently neglected to vet before nominating her, which were put out there for everyone to read and debate, and which Hugh Hewitt never was willing to deal with honestly.

Hmmm. Same old C R P. I'd think by now you guys who don't like what you perceive to be "Fundies" would have come up with a new, rational reason for your excess, but you haven't.

You know your boy Alito is going down too ~ he's not sufficiently "pro-life" to satisfy anybody, not even Chuckey Schumer, who hates indecisiveness more than anything.

And look at Roberts? He appears ready, willing and able to let the the leftwing extremists on the Court rule to the benefit of their Islamofascist allies who are making war against us, and burning France (not that that's all that bad an idea).

You can't trust the Bushies to come up with anything but Souter retreads.

I was waiting for someone to say that! lol

I think it's funny, they still don't understand the power of the Internet and websites like Free Republic!

That won't stop them from sticking their fingers in the Internet electrical outlet to see what will happen. BUZZZZ! lol

What I find interesting is the reach of Free Republic, regardless of any particular issue.

Some hate us, some fear us, others just want to put their finger on the pulse of live conservative opinion but it seems to be more and more a regular thing that FR is mentioned.

Hewitt plugged the website Technorati.com in his piece, I never heard of it before. I looked at it, nothing special.

I guess he still has some .com stock laying around he's hoping to score with. lol

technorati.com is cool -- you can type in the URL for your website (or someone else's), and see a list of blogs that point to it. I use it several times per week to see who links to boundless.org (the site I edit).
