"And at the end of it all, what does your administration have to show for it?"

Most state governorships, most state legislatures, most registered voters, control of the House, control of the Senate, a new Supreme Court makeup, control of the Presidency for 8+ years, a decline in liberal newspaper circulation, and the following:

Presidency of George W. Bush -- the first 48 months

President Bush signing a federal ban on Partial Birth Abortion

Banned Partial Birth Abortion

Reversed Clinton's move to strike Reagan's anti-abortion Mexico Policy

Stopped foreign aid that would be used to fund abortions.

Killed the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty so that the U.S. can once again test our nuclear weapons

The Commercial Space Launch Amendments Act (less romantically known as H.R. 5382) ultimately allows average Americans to hitch a ride on a civilian space craft at their own risk. The federal ban on such citizen travel was repealed by HR 5382 in 2004. The President signed that bill into law two days before Christmas.

President Bush pledged to Israel on 4/14/2004 that it could keep parts of the West Bank, giving international legitimacy to Jewish settlements there

Denied Palestinian refugees any right of return to what is now Israel, saying they should be resettled in a future Palestinian state instead

Part of coalition (Russia, Israel, EU, Palestine, USA) for Israeli/Palestinian "Roadmap to Peace"

Pushed through THREE raises for our military

Increased Defense Dept funding which had deteriorated during the previous 8 years

President Bush's Grand Strategy (click here)

Signed the 2004 Omnibus Budget 1/26/2004 that now MANDATES that gun buyers' background check information be fully and permanently destroyed within 24 hours of the completion of the check, no matter what.

Repealed Gun Controls Against Active, Retired, and Off-Duty Law Enforcement Personnel Carrying Weapons Into Local and State Prohibited Zones (7/28/2004)

Disarmed Libya of its Chemical, Nuclear, and biological WMD's without bribes or bloodshed

Approves The First U.S. Counter-Intel Plan

Successfully executed 2 wars and rebuilt 2 nations: Afghanistan and Iraq. 50+ million people who had lived under tyrannical regimes now live in freedom...epitomized by their own free and democratic elections.

Endorses and promotes The Responsibility Era ("In a compassionate society, people respect one another and take responsibility for the decisions they make in life. My hope is to change the culture from one that has said, if it feels good, do it; if you've got a problem, blame somebody else -- to one in which every single American understands that he or she are responsible for the decisions that you make; you're responsible for loving your children with all your heart and all your soul; you're responsible for being involved with the quality of the education of your children; you're responsible for making sure the community in which you live is safe; you're responsible for loving your neighbor, just like you would like to be loved yourself. " -----this quote was too good to leave out)

Hopefully this is directed at Martin Sheen because the tone is far to disrespectful of the Office of the President of the United States.

We're sick and tired of watching your administration compromising on the principles that got you elected

I voted for Bush and can be counted among those who are sorry they did so. Republicans who support Bush and his Unconstitutional Union of the Americas can no longer count on my money or my vote..if that puts the Dems back in power..well..so what? At least it will be a KNOWN socialists...

Bush is a WOLF in SHEEPS clothing.

I hear you and whole heartedly agree.

The best conservative minds can make such great arguments supporting the Bush Administration yet many of them won't be heard by the public at large. The Administration itself needs to be making these points and arguments from the lofty offices we elected them to?

Why should I, or anybody else, continue to fight for someone who lacks the fortitude to defend his own honor and principles?

i don't believe it is a matter of intestinal fortitude; he has proven himself over and over in making the choices he has.

personally i believe dubya mistakenly believes in turning the other cheek.

of course, he ran out of cheeks long ago.

it is at a point now, where so many mistaken moves are being made, so many lies being told, so many sneaky and vile acts are being taken that lives are at stake in our military. people are being wounded and killed because the terrorists believe we are weak in our resolve and will run tail again, as clinton always did.

but you're right. it is now time to turn over the money changers' tables.

Your article sums up my frustrations very well. I sometimes wonder what would be different if the winners were reversed - Would we have even more porous Borders, would deficit spending and Pork be more out of control, and a whole lot of other problems that the vast majority of Americans want addressed be worse? I don't know but the fact that I'm asking the question is telling.

I'm fine with your rant up to this point:

And, finally, you owe it to the country, which looks to you for leadership, which needs to know that you did not send the best of its sons and daughters to die in vain.

Its no secret why we are at War. Terrorism anyone?? 9-11, years of attacks with no response...

Only anti-USA dems continue with talk like that. Dont be a mouthpiece for them.

The President has accomplished much. His only really major failure is his administration's ability to communicate all the good he's done. If only he would come out fighting the Plamegate and WMD charges with the same energy and determination he used right after 9/11...

He did a lot of great things. But he also has his flaws. Refusing to protect our own borders and supporting the Palestinian Authority Animals are his two major shortcomings.

Whether anyone likes it or not, there's a lot of truth in what you've wrote. I voted for President Bush twice, and admire him greatly, but no one is perfect (not even the President). A lot has been done to this man by a lot of partisan hacks and vicious people, but I'm sorry to say that he's brought some things on himself. If he doesn't start to fight back and fight back hard, he will be a lame duck of the first order(and deservedly so!)

I hear you. He lost me when he started creating new intrusive branches of government early in his first term. I'm not sure, you and I might disagree on that particular point. But I'll tell you, when he can't or won't even defend himself, it's pretty depressing.

That being said, if the Republicans are for you, then fight for change in the party. Pressure from the base is sure to do something positve. For me, though, I'm not voting for any of them unless they stop acting like big spending Democrats. Unless Ron Paul runs for President, that is. I'll vote for that Republican.

I don't know if the conciliatory strategy is politically or psychologically motivated, but IMHO, he could be standing a lot firmer and taller than he is ... particularly, as you so rightly say, in behalf of our men and women fighting on the frontlines of freedom.

I didn't like the way he caved in on Katrina at all; he should have blasted the leftmedia critics as the vipers they are and laid responsibility squarely where it belongs instead of pledging billions of dollars to feel-good "programs."
