What do you use a 2 quart slow cooker for unless you are a single on a diet?

I did a bit of Googlin', and I found a webpage full of crockpot recipes here; after looking through some of them, it certainly appears that a larger model is more useful.

I did find two that seem to me to imply that a smaller slow cooker would be useable: CROCKPOT FISHERMAN CATCH CHOWDER and CROCKPOT OLD FASHION RICE PUDDING. But most recipes that I looked at seemed to mention using larger models, with 3.5 quart, 4 quart, and 5 quart models being most frequently mentioned.

While searching, I also found an even smaller crockpot, a 1.5 quart size for sale here:

They're only offering the prices that American companies don't want to offer.

Hey, wait...

Hey, you can never have too many crockpots! (And I'm single and *should* be on a diet, LOL) I own 4, including the wee 1.5 qt. size and a 2-sided 6 qt. one. The small one (I looked for a long time before finding one with a lift-out liner for easy cleaning) is great for cheese dips and for reheating a dish of leftovers for a busy family of three. Simply fill it in the morning, plug it in and forget it until lunchtime. The divided one is really handy if you have guests who have allergies or other dietary restrictions. Instead of the entre` + side dish paired together in the recipe book, I usually use it to cook 2 versions of the same thing.

I'm too anti-social to brave the stores on Black Friday but this sale is tempting if the above list of sale items is accurate. My town's super-WalMart hasn't even been open 2 weeks yet, woo-hoo!

No Friday after Thanksgiving shopping for me...I figure that what I might save on Friday will be more than offset by what I have to spend on Monday at the doctor's office to combat the exotic germs I picked up or at the auto bodyshop to smoothe out the new dings in the Soob.

LOL..I'm single and always on some sort of diet but I have a 6 qt crockpot for making big batches of soup and chili to freeze.

The smaller crockpots are for burning potpourri, I guess. They'd be useless to me.

< They will have about 5 of each item, just a ploy to get you to come to the store. All the stores do it on Black Friday, then once you're there, they figure you'll buy something. >

Not so at most retailers for Black Friday. My sisters go everyplace that day (and have for years) and they don't wait in line and there is plenty of most everything. Bait and switch is for normal sales. Black Friday is special and truly is a nice gimmick. At least that's true in my area for the big retailers.

My parents owned a Mom and Pop store so we're all in tune with the gimmicks. I have friends who can't understand how I can walk all the way to the back of a big grocery store and come out the front with just a gallon of milk. To me it's a challenge. They want me to load up as I walk thru so I make a point NOT to buy anything else. Hey, I know why milk and bread are back there.

Wow! The best part is that other stores will feel compelled to have doorbusters, too!

Now, the question is whether I think those bargains are worth the crowds!

I shopped with someone on black Friday one time. 6:00am and the line was 1/2 way around the building. Christmas cheer is nonexistent as the lower life forms jostle and shove for position.

I swore if I ever did it again I'd pee on my clothes and let them sit in a garbage bag for a week, put them on and then go fight the masses. At least that way I'd have somewhat of an advantage at driving people away from me.

Lexmark all-in-one printer, scanner and copier for $39.88

Wal-Mart and Kmart have always had cheap prices for printers – and make it up with outrageously high priced ink cartridges. When I was using a Lexmark printer I would buy a new printer when the ink ran out. It was cheaper than a cartridge, plus it included printer and photo paper.

Hey, PJ swim over to Wal-Mart on Fridays and loot a new HP laptop. Did I say loot?? I meant BUY...

I was browsing Craigslistm DC last night, and a guy was offering to buy a "backseat" laptop. "NO QUESTIONS ASKED". offered $500, must be P4 IN THE BOX!

Idiot!
