Exactly again the problem we experienced yesterday.
We use two databases in a master/slave relationship. The master receives all the posts and other changes we make to the forum. The slave copies all these posts and changes from the master, allowing either database to be queried in order to satisfy requests.
When it is working correctly.
We use a couple database tables to implement our search engine. Unfortunately, the tables on the the replicated slave are experiencing occassional crashes that look something like this:
Error 'Incorrect key file for table './FreeRepublic /search_full_title.MYI'; try to repair it' on query. Default database: 'FreeRepublic'. Query: 'DELETE FROM search_full_title
It's an easy enough problem to fix, takes just 2 minutes. But I've developed this nasty sleeping habit I've had a hard time kicking. :-(
To make a long sad story brief: It crashed again 2 hours ago. I just now did the little dance to bring it back, we'll see how this goes. Worse case I'll write a little monkey to do this for me... Worst case I'll disable search and its little unstable friends.
Thanks for all your hard work.
Thanks for the update. Good luck.
Thanks for all your efforts, John.
I appreciate the explanation.
Thanks John.
"Free Republic admits to using slaves!"
We can never hope to appeal to black voters as long as we post these slave/master threads. Please for the sake of unity...
I keep a spare key hidden among the bamboos in the back yard. Perhaps you should consider same? :)
"master/slave relationship."
Jesse and Al are on their way to pay you a visit.
I h8 computers!
People actually use search? News to me. :)
Thanks for the update. You'll get it working properly.
What, no cookies?
Hey... what Mrs. kevkrom and I do in our own home is our own business...
Which table type are you using with MySQL?
A racist, judgemental comment, if ever I heard one.
Good for you, John.
I get little gremlins like this all the time at work. Whack-A-Mole!
