Terrorism Strikes the Heartland By Cinnamon Stillwell | October 7, 2005
If you happened to be browsing the Internet last weekend, the headline, "Suicide bombing in Oklahoma" just might have caught your attention. After all, it's not every day that there's a terrorist attack on U.S. soil and supposedly there hasn't been one since 9/11.
But that's exactly what happened outside a packed football stadium at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma on Saturday night (10/1).

FR is mentioned in the article.
Thanks for the ping; AIM is a great organization. I love to read their stuff.
:-)
The PC MSM is willfully deaf, dumb, and blind. If the bomber had even a remote connection to the Pro Life movement the story would be front page news and would run on the Castro News Network every 5 minutes.
"FR is mentioned in the article."
From what I read, FR appeared to have been their primary source. I recognized fragments of several posts. Funny, though, the "blogs" mentioned had to have fed off of FR coverage spurred on by PhiKapMom's vivid accounts, among others, as she was there. This began right after the game, when no one, at all, had anything to say about it. Yet Free Republic is mentioned as a sort of also ran.
It's a little irritating. But, the truth is getting out. Getting credit is secondary.
I haven't seen today's paper, or wednesday's, but so far my local paper hasn't printed a word about it. It happened on saturday, so I think it would have made monday's paper, if not sunday's.
"Further adding to the impression that Hinrichs was a convert, a Colorado Springs Gazette photo posted at the Northeast Intelligence Network website shows him with a beard too similar to those worn by newly observant Muslim men to be a mere coincidence."
His beard is the same kind that Nick Berg had at the end (cue twilight zone music).
Maybe the author is a FReeper, but didn't want to be too obvious.
Either that, or a lurker for sure.
Anyways, we all know FR rules. If I haven't read it here, it hasn't really happened. ;-)
Once again it was left up to bloggers like Mark Tapscott, Michelle Malkin, Wizbang, Gateway Pundit, The Jawa Report and Zombie (photojournalist for Little Green Footballs), as well as the "Freepers" of FreeRepublic.com, to pull together first hand accounts and links to the miniscule amount of news coverage available at the time.

The author, Cinnamon Stillwell, and the poster, FReeper SeenTheLight, are the same person. FYI.
Dang. Can't read the article. Some drop-down advertising plops itself right in the middle of the story, with no way to get rid of it.
Friday afternoon release. Small teaser on FOX, MSNBC. Cnn is ignoring it. Hoping that nothing bad happens in NYC, maybe the Sunday talkers will pick it up.
Otherwise, old news. Nothing to see.
"The author, Cinnamon Stillwell, and the poster, FReeper SeenTheLight, are the same person. FYI."
Well, in light of that, I suppose I understand softpedalling the association.
