Delay's Public Denials on Knowledge of Handling of Campaign Cash 'May Have Some Holes In It'
NEW YORK, Oct. 2 -- Last week DeLay proclaimed his innocence of the charge leveled against him: that he had funneled streams of laundered corporate cash into legislative races in Texas. When it came time to discuss precisely what would happen next, discipline broke down. Members demanded full-scale elections sooner rather than later for a new permanent leadership, and if DeLay doesn't escape his legal problem by January -- hardly a certainty -- that vote will occur and he won't be in the race report Chief Political Correspondent Howard Fineman and Contributing Editor Eleanor Clift in the October 10 issue of Newsweek (on newsstands Monday, October 3).

I think a more appropriate title would be:
NEWSWEEK Has A Highly Weakened Reputation.
Subheadline:MSM attempts to "rewrite history".
Newsweak?
Once again Chris Matthews friend and cohort, Howard Fineman proves he is wrong again. I mean, c'mon, this idiot never learns. Well, Matthews isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer either, and the entire Newsweek staff is not known for being on the mark, ever!!! Howard, my lad, you are about as dumb as one can get!!!
He once mockingly summed up the constituency of the Democratic Party as "Greenpeace, Queer Nation, and National Education Association [the teachers union]."
------
And he IS DEAD-ON RIGHT!!!
In fact, he could have made the description more accurate and more colorful. But of course, he left out the welfare class, anti-American thugs, felons, and judical liberal activists...and the list goes on.
Looks like MSM wishful thinking has replaced news and analysis.
Newsweek's credibility went down the toilet with the phony Koran down the toilet story.
This is not true from where I sit.
Bush is viewed more positively now than ever before.
In their fondest dreams. They are following the idea that if it is repeated enough people will believe it.
I think they are mis-underestimating him again.
Yeah--maybe it's time to run some more stories about flushing Korans down the toilets, Howard..
I wonder if Fineman has to get his columns "okayed" by Chrissy Matthews before he submits them...LOL
Fineman makes a point of Delay's "high name ID in the country"...but, I have heard quite a few pundits in the recent past, say that to the middle of the country, red-staters, Delay would have NO name recognition...
Considering some of the "man on the street" interviews that have been done, I wouldn't doubt that a HUGH percentage of voters do NOT know who Delay is....and won't care in 2006 or 2008.
I love it when the liberals "misunderestimate" President Bush. Everytime they do, Bush always proves them wrong and wins. I don't expect any difference this time.
Fineman & Alter, the Lewis & Dean of our generation, except it is more like Lewis & Lewis.
Well, look at the unbiased, honest, truthful. holesome young reporters who wrote this.
Oh. Wait. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DON'T LOOK!
Maybe the Bush Administration should give Sandy Berger a call for advise .
The idea that there is no margin of error means even newsweak nows that no permanent damage has been done.
Alter's full of...chemotherapy. He forgets the Jim Wright Democrats.
