Schumer's Shame

So, while many Americans were busy contributing money, clothing and other necessities for hurricane-devastated Gulf Coast residents, what was Sen. Chuck Schumer up to? Raising money off the backs of Katrina's victims for the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee.
In one of the more cynical tricks we've seen lately, Schumer's DSCC urged visitors to its Web site to sign a petition urging the firing of Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Michael Brown, the focus of much of the criticism of the federal response to Katrina.
(Indeed, Brown was summoned back to Washington yesterday as Coast Guard Vice Adm. Thad W. Allen took over the Louisiana relief effort signs that hardly bode well for the FEMA chief.)
A click on the petition opened a page requesting a donation to the DSCC, the party organization focused on recruiting and supporting Senate Democrats.
Only after the press blew the whistle did the tasteless scheme end. The committee yanked the link and agreed to donate any funds raised to charity.
Efforts to politicize Katrina continue apace; certainly Schumer isn't the only pol seeking to take crass advantage of an indescribable human tragedy.

Simple liberal misdirection. Look at Brown and Bush, not at Nigan and Blanco.

Brown handled Charlie and Francis OK, so why all of a sudden he's a problem? (Rehtorical)

Misdirection - right. We are seeing squealing pigs trying to steer the public blame to Bush - rather than looking into the State of Louisiana and its policies.
I would expect we would find a can of worms - misspent levee funds possibly directed to democratic party interests, corruption rife through all of government (as is standard operating procedure with democrats).
And now we need to watch how the land management is handled by State of Louisiana. I expect to see New Orleans property condemned and therefore unavailable for rebuilding of houses BUT available for purchase by casino/entertainment industry at cents on the dollar. Therefore, the land can be rebuilt with FEMA paying for the rebuilding of a new use of New Orleans property.
And, a closer look might provide links to the governor/mayor/politician deals with the casino/builder/developer interests in NO.
I also suspect that the toxic state of the waters is being inflated so that the property condemnation can proceed. Wonder if there is independent evaluation of the water outside of the NO authorities?

Guess I'll ask again. What did FEMA do wrong? What did Director Brown do wrong? Skip the spin, want direct answers. Would appreciate it.

At times I can almost belive that Chuckie is in a one upmanship thing with the Hildabeast. It's like a competition to see who can sink lower.
Except in their cases, they're not sinking, they're diving.

I agree with everything you say. Even some friends think I have gone off the conspiracy deep end.
They dumped their welfare and crime problems on others and will get tons of taxpayer money to raze and rebuild. They get a new city and no welfare expenses.
You are the only one other than me that I have heard say the water pollution is overstated. The leaving of the bodies is part of that, too. It enhances the polluted water story and keeps people from wanting to return. The toxic waste, pollution scenario lays the ground work for bulldozing and disposing of everything. This makes rebuilding a necessity and the money making system is then activated.
Was the Supreme Court Kelo decision a prelude for this? The timing is an interesting coincidence to say the least.
Blaming Bush is a part of the plan, too. Create a scandal, reap the benefits, and escape the blame. Quite a deal.

Ok, Brown was taken off the Katrina relief, but, he's still the head of FEMA, right?
