REPUBLICANS - 209 DEMOCRATS - 249 INDEPENDENTS - 267
REPUBLICANS - 28.8% DEMOCRATS - 34.3% INDEPENDENTS - 36.8%
This poll was conducted among a nationwide random sample of 725 adults, interviewed by telephone September 6-7, 2005. A FACE VALUE OVERSAMPLE OF DEMOCRATS OF 6 POINTS.

FYI: CBS can hide even a higher oversample of Democrats in the "Independent" column.
Also, it is a garbage sample of 'national adults'.

I believe for last years election, Repubs and Dims were evenly split at about 37% (with Independents making up the rest). Most of these polls are worthless. Unfortunately, no one ever explains the shortcomings. The good news is that this helps to contribute to the misunderestimation of the Pres.
The people who claim any validity for these idiotic polls don't know the first thing about mathematical statistics. I laugh every time I see the plus/minus 3 percent or whatever. It's the "sauce" they all have to apply to try and make up for all the things they don't know accurately that makes the entire activity so much nonsense. The only reason the MSM polls today is to create a story for the next 24/7 news cycle. And they purposely slant each and every poll to get the result they have already written their story around. It's all total BS.
But it is fun to watch because Hysteric Leftist base their whole reality on polls. So when the polling came out on the banSheehan, all the Dinasour Media hyperbole about the "Rosa Parks" of the Anti-war movement just started dieing away. Fun to watch their heads explode when gas prices come down and Bush's numbers go up
independents aren't. they're just democrats that don't have the guts to admit to the stupidity of their decisions.
I did in one minute what any reporter could do.
I found the sample.
I analyzed it.
In 2004,
Dem -37%
GOP -37%
Ind -26%
THIS FAKE POLL FROM CBS:
Dem -34.3% wink, wink
GOP -28.8% - 8 points less than the 2004 Election
Ind -36.8% - Hidden Dems
Since these polls continue to be a reality we have to face, I am pleased people like you take the time to debunk them for what they are. You provide a vital service. Thanks.
They can fool all the DUmmycrats all the time (their leader's do this regularly), but you are right about the rest of us. As someone said, they've gone too far on this, as on Muther Sheehan and all the rest, and there will be blowback.
What? CBS dishonest about polls? Why, how could that be? Just the other day, Dan Rather told us that CBS was the most honest network we have...

BTW: Have you had a chance to review the sample for today's BOGUS AP/Ipsos Reid poll? [I haven't which is why I'm asking you.]

I posted those results in a previous post.
Notice the fine print in that one.
They show Dem -48%, GOP -42% sample.
When you read the tiny print, you find out that half the sample was polled at the end about party affiliation. (THIS IS WHEN THEY ARE MOST HONEST)
That showed Dem -51%, GOP -42%.
Such liberal media bias will not be hidden here.
Independant = Embarrased Democrat
Maybe someone should alert the media that :
A poll has never nominated a Supreme Court Justice.
A poll has never reversed the results of a presidential election.
George Bush is POTUS for another three years and 4 months.
The phrase "biased CBS" is redundant. CBS is synonymous to bias.
