The government should have ignored directives from the US State Department barring foreign consular representatives from hurricane devastated New Orleans and sent a rescue mission, Labor says. That's great...if Australia really wants to engage in an overt Act of War on the United States.

This shows why the Labor party lost so badly in the last elections and don't have a clue about anything. We are laughing pretty hard about this down here--I believe we will invade New Zealand first, then Hawaii, before making it up to New Orleans.

They are simply reading our "leaders" lack of response to the Mexican invasion. Therefore, if Mexico nation can cause its people to invade the USA with impunity why not Australia? They are just as good as Mexico!

If this had happened somewhere else they'd be saying it was racist to worry about a few Australians when thousands are dying.

"If television crews were able to get themselves round this area the situation was not so fraught that officials and service personnel could not have done the same," he said. One difference. Freedom of the Press (recognised by the US Constitution) gives televisrion crews a wedge tp do this.

Heard of a rumor the reason the Aussies and Brits were taken out of the SD to a more secure location and being on first buses out was there was going to be a Aussie military rescue operation whether state department liked it or not.
I guess they would have had to do something like parachute in maybe, but stranger things have been done.
