Several freepers predicted that yesterday.
This was just reported on CNN as FEMA was making the announcement at their press conference. Too dangerous to be using boats to rescue people. Cannot believe the hoodlums have gotten FEMA to stop Search and Rescue missions.
They said it was too dangerous with rescuerers being shot at and they have pulled all their people from S&R.
This is horrid.
Yes, it is a nightmare. I can't believe this is happening in the United States of America.

Prayers that sanity and calm are restored....it will take a miracle just for that, it seems.
The looters need to be shot dead so that people can be saved. As to whether or not the political will exists to do what should be done, that is questionable.
Imagine how this looks to the rest of the world? What an embarrassment for all those trying their best to make things better. Maybe they should just start shooting the looters.

Can you confirm that "too dangerous" meant because of the danger from violent rescuees? Or was it "too dangerous" becasue of floating debris etc.?

CNN was on in my other room so I wanted to make sure I got it right and there it was in the headlines. I have Fox on where my computer is at turned low so I can hear CNN.
Total nightmare in NO. The good people of NO who have been helping with the rescue and keeping people alive really need our prayers right now.

I agree looters should be shot on the spot (thought that from the beginning). However, is Bush the one to say it? Or the Gov. of LA? I'm just asking the protocol because I have absolutely no idea. I would like to say I'm appalled, but from the moment the looting started and everyone seemed to be excusing it, I saw this as the logical outcome.
Sad.
I'm praying for the innocent folks who are caught up in this mess.
