Yes, she insisted that the FBI not communicate their information to the CIA or anyone else, told them to drop it. This is what Weldon is saying -- we'll see what all comes out. I still think this guy could have a flight school tho.

"Did the Gorelick wall have something to do with this failure? I don't know at what stage the communication broke down."

That is the whole issue of things being discussed, brought to light. Her memos from 1995 etc., directing the Intel agencies not to share info with the FBI in regards to supposed US citizens and people with "green cards", is what the hallabaloo is about. Weldon and others are trying to make it clear that had not the Clintoon DoJ handed down rulings that tied the hands of agencies to share data across the board, Atta and three others may have been grabbed, based on stuff in the Able Danger reports, and therefore 9/11 may never have happened.

Think 1995 range. Do a search for the tons of articles recently posted here regarding 9/11 issues, Able Danger etc..
I know last week at least one group of articles showed documents Gorelick issued that showed dates in mid nineties.

re: I still think this guy could have a flight school

The whole 9/11 thing was practically a death knell for certain segments of general aviation. It was already very expensive to learn to fly, $10,000 plus for a private license. Most flight schools at smaller airports like Venice, FL, were barely hanging on. Even if one does manage the ten grand plus it takes to get a private license it's still tough to find something to fly. The hourly cost of a rental aircraft is over $100 for even the simplest of single-engile planes, and the cost of ownership is even worse. $70,000 of the price tag for a new single-engine airplane is for liability insurance to cover the lawsuit the manufacturer will face in 20 years when an inexperienced pilot who is the fourth or fifth owner of the plane crashes it as a result of pilot error. The manufacturer's liability never goes away. In today's world of flying a private license is pretty limiting without an instrument rating and that's another several thousands of dollars. It is really sad what has happened to this segment of

I suspect a lot of small flight schools were put out of business as a result of 9/11. The several months of not being able to earn money was just too much for them to weather.
