"Who wrote the written word?"
You are right, Men wrote it. Inspired men....and like I said previously....ya gotta have some faith and then use your brain to see how logical it becomes.
A long time ago there was a hot soup on the earth. One magical day some of the dirt in the soup became alive! It grew and grew and grew until one day it turned into a fish! Then it turned into a dinosaur! Then it turned into a bird! Then it turned into a monkey! Then it turned into a man! Man was too stupid for a long time to know where he came from. Then one day a great man took a voyage on a ship and came to an island. On the island were many different animals. The man imagined how these animals could have come to be and wrote a book. Others read his book and said "How wonderful this book is! Let us teach it in our schools to our children. And that, my children, is how we came to be.
Would love to respond, but you are in with fester. See

I have "evidence" - it's called The Bible! It's a written testament of the truth.
It's not scientists who are doing that, but liberals who are trying to frame the discourse to make it look like they are the sole arbitriters of scientific truth, and that conservatives are basing their stances on religious or metaphysical speculation. Most scientists would agree with you that we need changing science and constant morals. Science wouldn't be science if it wasn't constantly questioning itself, and any healthy society needs some sort of morality underpinning it (but it's not the government's job to decide what that morality should be).
Yes. There are also a lot conservative scientists, and you'll find some of them on FR.
And that has resulted in a boatload of junk science?
Yes. But that's because scientists are people like everyone else, and are susceptible to the same biases. The difference is, in their line of work, they are trained to recognize them better than anyone else.
Well, the Cree Hebrew creation story is a truth of it's own.
It is a type of mythology. Myths are necessary, and they work they're way into our popular conscienceless. As a society, we accept them as a type of truth. And they are such.
Myths, themselves, are changeable as the need dictates.
I think you are correct. It is amazing that Moses knew these things when writing Genesis.....but I think he had help.
Gen.1:1- Perhaps billions of years ago!
Gen.1:2-"Became" chaotic, confused, dark and formless because of Lucifer's rebellion. The Hebrew word translated in most Bibles here as "Was" is better translated "Became". The same word is properly translated in Gen. 19:26. Lot's wife "BECAME" a pillar of salt. When you translate Gen.1:2 properly it allows for billions of years of soup, fish, monkeys, birds, dinosaurs or whatever.
Gen.1:3-Beginning of a new creation...the first 24 hour day. Light begins to penetrate the thick cloud cover.
Gen.1:6-The second 24 hour day. Clouds rise creating an expanse between the waters of the seas and the waters of the clouds(under and above). Ocean recedes and dry land appears.
Gen.1:11-Grass and herbs planted on the third 24 hour day.
Gen.1:14-Fourth 24 hour day sees the Sun become visible through the thinning clouds and toward evening the moon and the stars appear.
Gen.1:20-Fifth 24 hour day sees birds and sea life created.
Gen.1:24-Land animals and man created on the sixth 24 hour day.
Gen.2:2-Seventh 24 hour day(Sabbath)is blessed and made holy.
In six days God brought the Earth back to a state of order and then rested from his labor. God is not a God of disorder or confusion. 1st Corinthians 14:33
You keep saying 24 hour day. ? Do you really think that?
Adam and Eve?
That is a truth, but it is a myth. It can be both at once.
If you think that being two different things at once is precluded by science, I'd guess you don't really understand quantum physics.
"Do I believe it was really a 24 hour day?"
You have to understand.....I was not an eye witness.... but I have it on good authority.
Really? You have it on good authority? I have shown you two examples in the Scripture of God's time which certainly doesn't point to His time being on man made time. So please feel free to show me what you think evidence is that God has to be on our time. Where does it say in Genesis that a day is 24 hours? And why do you think if it's not on a MAN made 24 hour day, it is a less than Holy creation?
Everything will be fine as long as you stupid idiots that believe in creationism and God let us keep doing what we want to! Morons! (Sarcasm and exasperation) People who think along those lines are just as pathetic as any leftist.
Both Biblical references you gave show that a thousand years to God is like but a day.....so if you believe that he accomplished all I outlined in 7000 years instead of 7 literal days.....go for it!
The only reason I believe he did it in seven days is because that's what Moses wrote down!
I'm sorry, you are not correct. Science has been trying to explain the origin of "it" for as long as there has been science. What do you think Big Bang Theory is, if not an attempt by science to explain the origin of "it"?
When you find the source of all energy, you'll have the answer you seek.
"Stupid idiots?"
I have found generally that folks who cannot back up anything with scripture usually will resort to name calling...but that's fine. I understand your ignorance....but would never call you stupid because of it. But, if it makes you feel better.....I got broad shoulders.
Actually I don't believe that it was 7000 years. I think it was much, much more. So you think Moses was totally responsible for writing the Bible? I think those that wrote it did the best they could with their vocabulary and interpretation that they could at the time.
Rev. 1:8, 11 & 21:6, & 22:13
If you think the Alpha and Omega has to be on man's time....go for it!
"Do I think Moses was responsible for writing the Bible?"
No! Moses wrote only the first five books. Their vocabulary really had nothing to do with it....nor their interpretation. As I said in an earliar post, "they were inspired".
If you don't believe they were....that's fine with me.
Regarding the Alpha and Omega. Like I said, the only reason I believe that God re-created the Earth in 7 literal days is because Moses said he did it in 7 literal days. Now when God tells me later on that he actually did it in 7000 years or longer like you say he did.....I got no problem with that! I'll believe him....but all I got to go on now is what Moses says. You see my Quandry???
