I'm offended that you're not offended.
Hey try this: You're not bothered by the N or the R word, use them in separate posts on this thread and see which one gets removed.
To: sandbar
"People who make the Confederacy and/flag out to JUST be about slavery are as ignorant as they profess redneck's to be."
And thats whats so funny: Liberal elites use the term "redneck" to infer ignorance and bigotry, while remaining ignorant that the word originated as a bigoted slur against immigrant sharecroppers.
Oh the irony :)

hateful stupidheads were validated by the Confederate Stars and Bars flapping on the state flag. Stupidheads? What is this---recess?
To: Chi-townChief
"
..hateful stupidheads..."
Doug's article only validates himself as a "hateful stupidhead".

f memory serves, some years back Ben Jones ran for Congress (as a Dem, natch) and lost. Actually he won. Served two terms from Georgia - 1988 to 1992.

I learned that in Seattle the racism was much deeper and ranged over quite a few more ethnicities than I was used to IIRC there was a large Klan movement in the Pacific Northwest in the early years of the previous century. I suspect the sentiments are residual.

"Nice line Elfman, but wouldn't something like "I'd like to ride my rick-sha up her Ho-Chi-Mihn trail" have been a little more sensitive?" You always know how to talk to the ladies.

***Because the Dukes stuck together as a family.
Daisy was sexy as hell without being a slut.*** !
They stuck together till the actor's strike, then the producers brought in two unknown "cousins" to fill in for a few shows, they then disappeared forever when the strike ended.
OH DAISY! DAISY! I LOVE YOU!

I am not bothered by the N word because I am able to consider the source. There are also times I think it is an accurate description of a certain type of individual. I grew up hearing it, and it was in that environment that I learned not to use it because I didn't believe that some people were better than others, at least not based on the color of their skins. My dad still uses it, but I don't encourage him to use it around my grandson. At the same time, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Huckleberry Finn to my grandson this summer...uncensored. The language of the time captures the essence of the culture. Huck had a lot bigger issues than the use of the N word.
As far as "Redneck" is concerned, that's just plain silly. It's just a colorful word which is not an insult to most people who are tagged with it; quite the contrary; most wear it proudly. It's more humorous than anything. It's only the language police that want to decide what people should and should not find acceptable. Well, the language police can pound sand. I intend to live out my days at least pretending that this is still a free country where we can freely express our opinions in words of our own choosing.
I make an effort to be respectful of those whose company I am in at any given time, but I don't care in the slightest what the professional offendees think. In fact, those are the very people I just might go out of my way to annoy.

The war was fought because the south would sell the north goods and then the north would turn around and sell the goods to foreign countries and did not give the south a fair share of the profits if none at all. Do you have a specific example of this evil capitalism you'd like to share with the group?

Why did you spell out the R word and only used the initial for the N word?
I'm offended by the R word just as I'm offended by the H word or the G word. I'm from Virginia and ride a motorcycle and sometimes go to auto races and you would not call me a R to my face. It's not funny to me and I believe I have a right to be offended by it.
To: Chi-townChief
He prefers Speed Racer??? Do have any idea how many people die in firey car crashes in that show? Surely he must mean he wants a 'Smurfs' movie.
