I don't know if this has been on FR before or not. If so, fine it is good to see and hear it again. If not, I hope that as you watch the images scroll past you take time to remember what we faced on return.

Thank you for posting this.
I'd like to second that.
Never saw it before. Thankyou.
"And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane..."
When we were young, we took the things we saw seriously. In the above quote, I take "the" to mean Vietnam.
When we came home, after witnessing the insanity of war, we were met by a stony silence that condemned us to believe that this war was somehow different than other wars. Our ignorance of history led us to believe that we were unique and fallen warriors. Documented cases, such as My Lai, served to solidify this ignorance. We were caught in a trap. Silence and abuse. Shame.
My days are much shorter now.
I don't care anymore.
I am fully convinced that we did our very best.
One more thing: Those who are serving our country in the current war on terror, will not suffer the same fate of the 2+ million veterans of Vietnam.
We will make sure of it.
Semper Fi from a doggie.
God Bless them all.
A very touching tribute, thank you! God Bless them.
Thanks SLB.
And pray that none are left behind.
Thank you for your service! Please know that there were people who supported our troops during the VietNam war....but, in my humble opinion, the liberal politicians and media..like now...drowned out the support. And, perhaps, at that time, patriotic Americans were much too silent. I was part of a group organized by a good man named Charlie Wylie who tried to show support for our troops. We held a march in support of our troops and America but the NYC hierarchy would not allow us to march down 5th Avenue...we had to march down a smaller street. God bless you and your fellow Viet Nam veterans.
"And pray that none are left behind."
The lesson of Vietnam is that we left.
I'm proud to say that I often wore my Marine Corps uniform on liberty weekends up to Los Angeles - just to piss off the naysayers. I was by no means physically imposing, but nobody ever f***ed with me on those weekends.
Thanks.
The new media (which includes you and I) will make sure that our troops are supported.
"War is hell".
"We won't be fooled again".
I'm always up for a THANK YOU! to all Vietnam Veterans.
And one for my Hero, D. Moskal, USMC, 0331, 1966-1967.
And, Welcome Home.
Many thanks to you, and all our Vietnam Veterans. God Bless You for your service.
Many thanks to you and all our Vietnam Veterans. God Bless you.
We were right then and we are right now.
We won every major engagement on the ground and were vanquishing the enemy when the media reported that we were losing.
The Vietnamese people, whose hearts and minds we won long before the end, voted with their feet after the departure of American troops. Many of them are now among our finest citizens.
Those who loved freedom and remained were put to the sword, gun and fire by cruel and unfeeling tyrants to the tune of several million souls.
The children of Vietnam Vets, IMHO, should indeed be proud of their fathers and mothers who answered the nation's call to fight in the Vietnam War. Their parents were patriots and the nation is better for them. I say this as one who served willingly, not because it makes me any better than anyone else, but because I love the USA.
This is now and has been the greatest nation ever to grace the face of the earth. I'm thankful I had the opportunity to serve it, regardless of how insignificant my service may have been.
