Great news.....if we can believe one word of what they are saying. Unfortunately, we cannot.

The idea that something like this makes headlines doesn't speak well for the current perception of Islam.

Oops, what happened here? This can't be right. Everyone knows that no Muslim will condemn terrorims -- probably because they're all just lining up for the chance to kill someone.

Talks cheap. Considering that their theology does not name infidels (you and I) as human beings, it's a moot point. Or as my dear ol' Grand Daddy used to say,"That ol' dog jus' don't hunt."

Given the nature of the beast, a scholar's opinion doesn't count for much. One can shop around for a scholar with an opposing opinion and it has equal authority.

I guess muslime scholars have not learned enough to know that pig poop is pig poop no matter what name you place on it.

islam IS NOT a religion of peace..it barely qualifies as a religion at all...

The U.S. fatwa did not specifically address suicide bombings in a war

A notable omission. ...considering that so many of them believe they are in fact in a war -- a Jihad against the "infidels."

Too little, too late. This should have been done right after 9-11.

Would they swear to this on the Koran?
You know, the book that says KILL INFIDELS!
Yeah- the one in every mosque and Muslim home, with the 'holy' words that are law and can't be changed but MUST be obeyed!
Yeah- that's the one!
Ready to say the Koran is WRONG are they? Hmmmmmm????

And by the Islamic principle of Al-Takeyya it is ok for muslims to lie for the sake of allah. from the Hadith:

One of Mohammed’s daughters (Umm Kalthoum) stated that she never heard him condone or promote lying except under three specific situations: To reconcile the people of Islam; In times of war against the infidels; To a spouse to keep harmony within a family.

If they start taking out full page ads and radio and TV spots in the Arab media for a prolonged period of time I would be more compelled to believe them...as it is now, they're just lying to protect Islam from getting the reputation it has earned.

When the purveyors of TROP issue a fatwah against the families of homicide bombers - then back it up with action - I might believe what they say.

I was searching in the Koran this week for ANY text at all that instructed Muslims to be peaceful, not hurt other people, love their neighbor, anything. I couldn't find one quote, yet these Official Muslim Scholars, and so many others, say that those that are bombing and terrorising the public are not being good Muslims. I challenge anyone to show me a quote from Islam's sacred record that instructs Muslims to not kill people. I have read, however, that they are specifically instructed to lie to those who are not Muslims. So, to my way of thinking, this article is worthless. And George Bush's statement that "Islam is the religion of peace" is a bald-faced lie.

A Bad Day for CAIR
By Evan McCormick
FrontPageMagazine.com | September 24, 2003

September 10th, 2003 will forever be remembered as a grim day for the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). On that day, the eve of the second anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, CAIR faced up to its own terrorist connections. It ran away from testifying before an influential Senate panel that heard a barrage of incriminating evidence about the group and its connections. It saw one of its former officials plead guilty to terrorist-related crimes in Federal Court. And, it was stood up by two Department of Justice officials at an immigration symposium in Florida. CAIR should find it hard to recover from this string of defeats...

I'll never believe anything they have to say. Too many condemnations of terrorism quickly followed by BUT or ALTHOUGH ! Actions speak louder than false words and we've seen too many actions of ISLAMIC terrorists.

Methinks the populace has a skepticism now that has become ingrained and IMO, certainly justified.

Partly due to London, which is emotionally closer to the US than probably any other place, , any Muslim protestations will increasingly fall on deaf ears as most Americans,IMO, don't really want to know more or devote any time to thinking about Islam (They are sick of it) , any more London attacks and the cliche, too little, too late will apply.

What of jihad?

The distinction between terrorism and allout war can be in the mind of the fanatic.

Jihad does NOT mean struggle, it means holy war.

Ask The Imam - keyword "jihad"

Specifically:

I wish to inquire as to what the arabic term for holy war is. In the media that I came across lately, Jihad was used as term of reference which I understand is incorrect.

The Arabic equivalent for holy war is Jihaad.

and Allah Ta'ala Knows Best

Mufti Ebrahim Desai

If the jihad in Palestine is true Jihad where everyone is supposed to go why is it no one is going to fight...

recently I've been talkin' to ‘jihadis’, who say if Islam brings me peace, I have chosen the wrong religion, they say blood of kafir is halal, it is permissible to kill any nonmuslim

The statement, 'promoted killing of non-Muslims' is vague and sweeping and is very much open to misinterpretation. Yes, Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) promoted the killing of these non-Muslims who are actively engaged in destroying Islam and the Muslims. This is the command of Allah Ta'ala Himself in the Qur'aan. This type of killing is not simply permissible, but commendable and worthy of reward. This does not mean that Islam teaches to kill all non-Muslims.

If, for example, a Muslim intentionally kills a non-Muslim citizen of the Islamic state, then in retribution the Muslim's life will be taken. This indicates that even the life of a non-Muslim is sanctified, if he does not oppose Islam and the Muslims.

When all "states" are Muslim states, non-muslims will finally be safe < /sarcasm >

Interesting concept. Violence (terrorism)is acceptable against an occupying power. Considering that Muslims are attempting to effect an occupation of Europe (and Britain) in the name of Allah, are they saying that violence against Muslims would be justified by Europeans?

I guess they got my email.

Well it took them long enough.
It's been 12 years since the first WTC bombing and 22 years since the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut.
