Law And Order: Gang violence has plagued other cities for years. But it wasn't until immigrant gangs started attacking people with machetes around Washington that politicians applied federal muscle to the problem.

Our tolerance for the urban subcultures has allowed this to happen. Too much tax money is spent subsidizing a lifestyle that beeds violence, laziness, and illegitimacy. Increasing sentencing is excellent but it is chemo for the cancer. We need to take the war on terror into the inner cities, and start treating these street thugs as enemy combatants and rid them from our society.

"President Bush endorses the gangbusters bill, but its prospects are uncertain in the Senate. There, a competing anti-gang bill contains funding for crime prevention programs and other warm-fuzzies — "arts and crafts for gangsters," as one congressman dissed them — and leaves out mandatory minimum sentences."

A Republican majority and this bill's prospects are uncertain?! Just how many RINOs are in there?

Let the citizens of DC arm themselves!

Fire every single person associated with the DC public "education" system and get worthful people.

here are 2 fun stats...
"...With the lavish funding the District bestows on its schools $11,269 per pupil, more than any of the 50 states ...."

"A truancy crisis is plaguing D.C. schools. ...that almost one in four D.C. public-school students skipped school without an excuse 20 or more times last year."

All that money and no one comes to school. Wonder what they are doing. Another reason why Liberals are foaming at the mouth about The no Child left behind act. It makes it harder for them to hide things like this.

Both political parties are a major part of the problem and not the solution. Some N.H. cops and the Minutemen appear to be the first line of defense in the protection of U.S. sovereignty.

Gee, we don't have any of these problems in New York. Display your machete, and you're surround by fifty cops.

Perhaps this is because New York is one of the few cities with large numbers of rich people?

I agree. Insurgency starts with this type of behavior and like the 60's criminals can be used for political purposes. A good portion of our politician's today come from a forgiven criminal agenda. We will have to fight them sooner or later or they will rule by force and intimidation.

That's because congressmen spend too much time in Washington rather back in their home districts.

Here's a thought to consider...

From: Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia

Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under. It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in: Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent, Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent; Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! In the state of Victoria alone,

homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not! and criminals still possess their guns!)

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly.
Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in "successfully ridding Australian society of guns." You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.

The Australian experience proves it.&n! bsp; Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note Americans, before it's too late!

Of course, there was the usual whining from Democrats like Rep. Maxine Waters of Los Angeles, who worried about tougher gang laws disproportionately affecting minorities, and Rep. Nydia Velazquez of New York, who warned the bill would "worsen our youth violence behavior by enslaving our youngsters into prison."

The only reason I can think of that this bill world dispassionately affect minorities was because minorities were dispassionately involved in violent gang activity.
