I'll concede the point that the girl could be making up a story but you try telling that to her daddy right now. She does have the cuts and the vehicle has been seen in the area before. It is far better being vigilant for the next 7 school days than dismissing this out of hand based on an ungrounded hunch.

Maybe you all could point back in a few days to your comments about this being a hoax and pat yourselves on the back. But right now there is more objective evidence that WWJB is a troll than there is about this being a hoax. Think about it ... sign up date yesterday, admits in a post to watching PBS, suddenly appears on the scene, posting like an old pro. Hmmmm, could be a troll trying to establish a conservative persona. Howdaya like them apples?

In our area there was a car stolen today with a 12 week baby in it. The woman's only description was the race of the man, but they wouldn't say what that was.

How ridiculous! They did get the baby back safely.

Seriously, I'm not looking for a flame war (but can give as good as I get), we in the neighborhood take this very [expletive] seriously and if you look at post #28, you will see that there are creeps like that one in the area who fit the description. Telling parents who are trying to mobilize the extended neighborhood that it is a hoax is a decidedly bad move.

This poor girl has had quite a scare. Now I hope that the parents of Florida will have a talk with their children and tell them that what she did was exactly wrong, and that this situation could have ended in a very different way. She should not have turned off the main street onto a less-travelled side street, and she should not have run into a wooded area. If he was in a truck all she had to do was stay on the main street and turn around to run, rather than running into woods where he had the freedom and privacy to try to assault her. She should have screamed "NINE ONE ONE" on the street, rather than calling for help, which doesn't attract much attention. And depending on who lived nearby, she could have run into a neighbor's house. But not into the woods!
