Police: Alleged Gay-Bashing At Marin High School A Hoax Perpetrator 'Confessed To Everything'
May 8 (AP) — A 17-year-old top wrestler at an area high school here faked a series of gay-bashing incidents that prompted a police investigation, authorities said.
The rash of gay-bashing incidents at Tamalpais High School was the work of a student gay leader who claimed she was the victim of hate crimes, according to Mill Valley Police Capt. James Wickham.
The teen, who heads the school's Gay-Straight Alliance, admitted to authorities that she was the perpetrator of the incidents, which included vandalizing her own car with derogatory graffiti, police said.
Other incidents involved teachers who received threatening telephone messages.
"It has been determined that all the incidents have been committed by a single individual," Wickham said.
The student was not identified by police.
The girl has been suspended and could face expulsion, said Bob Ferguson, district school superintendent.
"She confessed to everything," Ferguson said. "She did admit to police that it was basically for attention."
The student was not arrested, but police said the case would be referred to the Marin County District Attorney's Office for review.
In a series of incidents dating back to November, the student claimed she was the target of hateful language, with anti-gay epithets scrawled on her car and on her school locker. She told police she was pelted with eggs outside her home by an unknown assailant.
Tam High students "kept wondering how this could happen at their school, but unfortunately they were let down by one of their classmates," Ferguson said.
Ferguson added that girl's recent title as the high school's athlete of the year was withdrawn by the district late last week.
High school principal Chris Holleran said students will have the opportunity to receive counseling about the matter.
Paula Pilecki, executive director of San Anselmo's Spectrum, a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender advocacy group, said she was surprised that police released a statement about the girl's admission.

WTF? This 3 dollar bill is advocating a cover up? You can bet your a*s if there actually was gay bashing these jerks would be clamoring for all the information to be released.
Actually, our government should have no considerations of the concept of a hate-crime. The thought that a crime gets harsher penalties because the perptrator is a majority while the victim is a minority is obscene, and laughs in the face of the concept of blind justice.
The law should not truly care why the crime was committed, just that it was, and the punishment should be for the crime. There should be no stricter punishements because of race or any of those other fun 'protected' items.
This girl, the only crimes she truly committed was the harrasing phone calls to the teachers and the vandalism of school property. The writings on her car, it was her property, and it's not a crime to deface your own property.
"Awareness raising" has always managed to raise my hackles. Can't find any (fill in the blank with object of leftist hate here)? Go out and do it yourself, and get lots and lots of positive media coverage for your cause. It happens more than we'll ever be permitted to know.
Counseling and therapy is for the Left what prayer and meditation is for sane people.
Unless she filed an insurance claim for the vandalism...
I wonder if it would be considered double jeopardy if she were charged with 2 counts of hate crimes, one against heterosexuals and one against her own type.

Note that Pilecki was not surprised about the admission, but that the police released a statement about the admission. The cops were supposed to continue the pretense that some "homophobe" was perpetuating "hate crimes."
Maybe not, but it is a crime to make a false report of a crime to the police.
My son's gay-friendly MATH teacher took the time to lecture her class on the above mentioned SOCIAL issue at sister school, Redwood High. When she mentioned "gay bashing," my son made the YESSS!! gesture and was promptly sent to the asst. principals office, this is now on his PERMANENT RECORD!
I am so so sick of gay gay gay. Crap, in my industry, the trade magazines have articles about the GAY travel market. I don't even want to speculate about activities on gay trips. There's whole directories of gay friendly hotels, bars, destinations etc. Haven't these pervs got enough already?

Good point. Her ego demands stroking, so she becomes a lesbo (I'm sorry; she "discovers her sexuality"). Still not satisfied, she starts a gay club. Looking for the next fix, she's on to perpetrating her own "hate crimes"....
I agree with you. It's hard to get special privileges and protections if you are not victimized. And if people are just minding their own business, it's time to create a little fictional persecution. Fact is, most people are at the point where they just want to not discuss the matter or have it shoved in their faces.
In my town, a teacher was recently induced to resign and return to private industry because of a statement he made in his classroom privately to a student. The student happened to be a member of the school Gay Straight Alliance and he asked the teacher his opinion of homosexuality either before or after class. The teacher told him the truth: that he considered homosexuality a sin. The student reported the conversation to the school board, a hearing was held, and the teacher is resigning at the end of the school year.
Maybe we should show this young woman the same compassion the GSA club showed this (set up) teacher. The GSA Clubs are definitely busy in this area of California.
