You cite the bible. Now tell me chapter and verse.
You can't. People can be good, but the bible is clear that human nature is bad.
Well sociopaths have the ability to lie (and act) convincingly when placed in a situation that may expose their crime. Even at 10 years old, this can be done quite effectively since society at large refuses to believe a 10 year can be that screwed up. A 10 year old sociopath can manipulate adults very well.
Next time be more detailed. The way your message split message made the 'only if' in your post a single sentence by itself.
No, 'humanist' is the belief that humans are born neither naturally good, nor evil, but are taught to be good or evil as they grow-up.
Get your facts straight before you debate with me.
Actually, my facts are all in a row. I am illuminating, not debating. You are not in possession of facts, only opinion.
Humanism is the 'cult' of objectifying human ability, and making it into a pantheon of excuses for failure... It is secular in nature, and is totally at odds with God.
You consistently point to God, and Satan, yet you feel that He does not have the final say! You want man to be placed into a good light, while man still lingers in the shadows...
humanism- philosophical and literary movement in which man and his capabilities are the central concern. The term was originally restricted to a point of view prevalent among thinkers in the Renaissance. The distinctive characteristics of Renaissance humanism were its emphasis on classical studies, or the humanities, and a conscious return to classical ideals and forms. The movement led to a restudy of the Scriptures and gave impetus to the Reformation. The term humanist is applied to such diverse men as Giovanni Boccaccio, Petrarch, Lorenzo Valla, Lorenzo de' Medici, Erasmus, and Thomas More. In the 20th cent., F. C. S. Schiller and Irving Babbitt applied the term to their own thought. Modern usage of the term has had diverse meanings, but some contemporary emphases are on lasting human values, cultivation of the classics, and respect for scientific knowledge.
was the kid on any kind of ritalin type drug?
No, your preaching, not illuminating.

You completely ignored my statements on 'humanists' in my last post.
You consistently point to God, and Satan, yet you feel that He does not have the final say!
I beleive in 'feel will', you do not.
You want man to be placed into a good light, while man still lingers in the shadows...
I never said that, I said that people are not born solely evil.
This is a political forum for debate (which you admit you are NOT doing), not a stand for you to preach your twisted views from.
I'd have to know what really went on in that house before making a comment one way or another. The kid could be a bad seed or maybe he just needs psychiatric help. Give this a few months. Let the neighbors stew over it for a while. There will be stories about the kid and/or the parents that will shed a little light on what happened.
It would be interesting to know why the judge did this.
Plenty of truth about manipulation.
I'm just skeptical that the neighbor would have seen fear in his eyes if he'd been a true sociopath.
His state may be more complex than that.
Hmmmm. I guess my formatting for emphasis can be a challenge.
Certainly not my objective.
Sorry for the confusion.
I thought humanists
believed there is NO right or wrong . . . other than . . . if it feels good, do it.
You know it makes no difference to me if it is genetic or not--the human is way over analyzed (excuses). We are animals by nature and pretend to be civilized. I think the evidence by one's fight to live with little food available and what they will do to eat demonstrates our civility or lack of.
Paul C Jesup: "Get your facts straight before you debate with me."
You seem to fail to see the irony in that sentence. Do you need some new mirrors?
Oh, wheee.
It's over prescribed, sure.
But on the whole, it's an amazingly safe med doing amazing amounts of good.
Do you have research supporting such a speculation as it being responsible for murder?
Goodness. Wisdom strikes again. THX.
I think you are quite right.
Food and the lack there of certainly brings out some of the worst in us, alright.
Well imagine how we'd react if a half naked boy with a shotgun came running down the street...
No, that is the 'hippy' idealogy.
You know it makes no difference to me if it is genetic or not--the human is way over analyzed (excuses). We are animals by nature and pretend to be civilized.
We humans are above animals, for example; animals cannot imagine beyond they confines, we humans can imagine beyond our confines and have turned our imginations into entire entertainment and technology industries.
I think the evidence by one's fight to live with little food available and what they will do to eat demonstrates our civility or lack of.
I guess you have never heard of the concept of 'food rationing' to prevent complete starvation of populations.
You seem to fail to see the irony in that sentence. Do you need some new mirrors?
You are confusing irony for ignorance on your part.
