Women send up pink smoke to protest male-only conclave to elect pope

CHICAGO (CNS) -- Before the cardinals locked into the Sistine Chapel had a chance to cast their first ballot April 18, a group protesting the lack of women's voices in the conclave gathered outside Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago to send up billows of bright pink smoke along with prayers for women to be heard. The event featured statements from several organizations supporting the ordination of women that called on the church to open its doors fully to women's participation. "At a time when young women are sold into slavery around the world, when war brings the rape of women, when it is women and children who suffer in poverty on earth and organized religions keep women in bondage celebrating the language of a male God, we know we cannot keep the silence demanded by male leadership in a church that claims to speak out for human rights," said Dominican Sister Donna Quinn, a member of the National Coalition of American Nuns.

When are women going to embrace their roles as women?

NEVER. That's their problem. They want to do everything that the men do and they are too ignorant to know they CAN'T. It's life and it's not good enough for them. I wonder why they sent up PINK smoke? Isn't PINK a color for girls? Isn't that the very thing they protest against? Being GIRLS? They are so messed up they will never come full circle.

They should be concerned. After all, the new Pope will strap up, send out special Monk Squads in Pope-mobiles, and take over the earth.

I can't find that picture of the monks rappelling down a building with machine pistols.

How come feminism always goes back in the closet whenever the lawn needs mowing, or when the car needs a new alterator belt or when the trash needs to be taken out?

LOL! When was the last time you heard a guy complain that his wife doesn't help mow the lawn, cut down trees, chop wood, clean the gutters, unclog the toilet, etc.? Not that I'm speaking from personal experience or anything...

"I can't find that picture of the monks rappelling down a building with machine pistols."

Well, they're more of a psych-ops team, I suppose. They might look innocent, but when they work you over, baby, you put the chains on yourself.

1. Jesus was God
2. Jesus was a man
Therefore, God is a man.

Perfectly logical conclusion to me :-)

Too logical. Try again.

Real order for real woman.

Gracias. She's told me that she wouldn't want to be a cloistered nun, but that she wants to work with the poor. So I've suggested looking at Mother Theresa's order, the Missionaries of Charity.

"Women send up pink smoke to protest male-only conclave to elect pope."

This is a joke, right?.....Something from the Onion?

I mean, it makes about as much sense as me protesting a Catholics-only conclave to elect the next Pope.

If you want to be "inclusive", sister -- be inclusive!

Hey, I am the official Family Lawnmower! I also take out the trash because I'm fussy about the state of our garbage pen.

I don't do the timing belt on the current eeeevil SUV because it's one of those nasty continuous jobbies (plus it hasn't needed changing yet), but I have changed the alternator belt on a '69 Torino, a '74 BMW 2002, and a '62 Studebaker Lark Daytona (289). Not to mention a brake job (my one and only, but it worked!) on the Torino and putting in the odd starter or carburetor.

I also do the laundry, all the cooking except that done outside over charcoal, (a male sex-linked characteristic), and I wash the cars. I clean the #$!@#)(^%()* cat box because I promised I would when we got married, and I can't talk the kids into THAT job.

My DH does all electrical repairs, sheet metal work and carpentry (I am chief assistant) as well as objects too heavy for me to lift (he's 6'6" and 250#). Which also means that I have to clean the gutters and blow the leaves off the roof valleys, 'cause I don't want him on a ladder or clumping his Size 13s across the shingles!

And, oh yeah . . .

I think this "sister" is a disgrace to whatever order is claiming her, and she needs to sit down, shut up, and go join the Episcopal Church.

She would fit right in over there.

Dominican Sister Donna Quinn, a member of the National Coalition of American Nuns

The National Coalition of American Nuns is not a church organization. It i a lefyist, feminist poltical organization which supports abortion, gay rights, and the usual array of leftist causes.

My guess is the sister is about as anti-catholic as Mohammed Atta.

What an excellent choice! You are blessed! I'll pray for her as she discerns her vocation.

The question on everyone's implant-laden lips?

"Do you have to believe in God to become Pope?"

Harvard Divinity School

Funny you should mention that school.

I suggest all these whacks join the Unitarian Universalist Church instead of trying to change the Catholic Church. Unitarian's take all comers.

"The Reverend Ms. Kim K. Crawford Harvie was raised in Concord, Massachusetts and graduated with honors from Middlebury College (Vermont) and Harvard Divinity School...

Rev. Crawford Harvie resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts with her partner, Kem Morehead, and their three daughters."

(Don't know much about these things, but I can't tell which one of these two is the dyke. Is there such a thing as a double-dyke relationship?)

The "Rev." Harvie performed some of, if not the first, gay marriages in MA after the SJC foisted that abomination upon us, and the entire country.
