And isn't it nice to know that scientists are willing to admit that they don't know it all?

Every time I try to grasp quantum physics, event horizons, black holes and super-dense dark matter, my head starts to explode and I have to go find something I can deal with like digging a posthole>/b> or sorting my socks. Post-Hole Digger = "PhD".
So what don't you understand? :-)
Cheers!

yeah im not buying this. I need to see some equations and evidence before I believe any of this. I have a background in physics and I get the impression that he doesnt understand some aspects........noticed that some physicists when they cant explain something like to say its because of dark matter/energyDamn it... your forcing me to do this but...... ok

I'm halfway through "Parallel Worlds" by Michio Kaku, published in January 2005, and he writes of black holes in great detail. (wormholes and strings, too).

Use the duct tape if the head seems likely to explode. But wait! There was an explosion at a duct tape factory today. Don't know if they were product testing.

Black holes, such as the one pictured in this artist's impression, may in fact be pockets of 'dark energy'.

No noise caused by an explosion in space?
What about within the matter itself?
Do you think that a blast wave in a vacuum couldn't vibrate an eardrum? Or to put it differently, do you think that a blast wave in a vacuum couldn't blow up anything?
Question: Did the "Big Bang" produce any noise?
Answer: Only in the parts that mattered.

I can't tell at what level of seriousness you meant your post. Suffice to say:
noise requires a medium
no medium in space
Now, if you're "in" the explosion, or the actual blast radius of the explosion reaches your position while it still has a sufficient energy, then yes perhaps sympathetic vibrations could cause your whole body, and eardrums, to oscillate, and you'll "hear" something.
I think Luke was too far away from those TIE Fighters for that to apply in his case, however.
