"US Congressman of Lebanese descent Darrel Issa (R-Vista, San Diego County)"
I know a number of Lebanese immigrants, including some family friends, and I have found that they often make great Americans. I'm confident Muslim immigrants of other nationalities will catch on, too.

I've read somewhere that the overwhelming majority of Lebanese in this country are Christian. Most of the ones I have met and worked with outside of University are. The handful of Egyptians I have met who live in Boston are Coptic Christians. Both groups have no love for Muslims.

BUT - that being said I should also add I met an enormous number of average every day Muslim Lebanese while at BU. These young men and a few women were not from wealthy families as most foreign students at BU are. These were some of the most agreeable, hard working, fun loving and educated people I met while in school. Quite a few lived on my floor and one was my roommate. I got to know them well. At the end of the year I ended up living with the whole group on campus during the Summer. At the time I was unaware the the Islamic faith frowned on drinking. These boys certainly never brought that up and I recall consuming large quantities of Heineken with them.
I think I met one hardcore Muslim who hated America deeply. Every so often I run itno one or two who still live here ( most never went home as the Harari Foundation had intended. All doing quite well and as American as any one of us.

Yeah, by Debka. ;') We're seeing the Arab world waking up to the realization that they've been fighting the wrong people and rooting for the wrong side. Of course, soon the Bush administration will be criticized for not helping Assad remain in power because of the chaos which will result when Hizbollah attempts to grab power and real estate in Syria, the various terrorist mass-murdering s-heads flee the Iraqi people and cross back over into Syria, the King of Jordan cleans house a bit, and the Iranian gov't supports the dismemberment of Syria (which it will).
Think of the chaos which resulted when the US let the Shah fall down.
And think of the political orientation of the zombies here in the US who chanted, "the Shah is a CIA puppet, down with the Shah."
