Terri Schiavo's Estranged Husband Turns Down $1 Million to Save Her by Steven Ertelt LifeNews.com Editor March 11, 2005

Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Just one day after receiving the offer, an attorney for Terri Schiavo's estranged husband says he has turned down a gift of $1 million from a California businessman if he would transfer guardianship of her to her parents.

George Felos, the euthanasia advocate who is Michael Schiavo's lead attorney, called the offer "offensive."

Felos told the Associated Press that Michael has rejected previous offers -- including one for as much as $10 million. Felos said Michael would not take the money because he promised Terri that he would not keep her alive artificially.

"Michael has said over and over again that this case is not about money for him," Felos said. "It's about carrying out his wife's wishes. There is no amount of money anyone can offer that will cause him to turn his back on his wife."

However, Michael has come under fire from Terri's family and others who say he has broken his marriage vows. Michael has lived for years with another woman, Jodi Centonze, and already has had two children with her.

Robert Herring, the wealthy electronics executive who made the offer, told AP that it stands until Monday if Michael changes his mind over the weekend.

Herring lives in San Diego and is the founder of WEALTHTV, a lifestyle and entertainment television channel. Earlier this week, Herring contacted infamous attorney Gloria Allred to pay Michael Schiavo $1 million if he complies.

"After viewing video of Terri on television, I came to the belief that there was hope for her," Herring said in a statement Thursday. "As events have proceeded in the legal battle, it became clear to me that if something was not done for Terri, that all hope for her would be lost."

The money has been placed in a a trust account operated by Allred.

"With a date of March 18th quickly approaching, and no other viable hope for Terri to be able to keep her feeding tube, I felt compelled to act," Herring said.

Nah, he will take the money. This is all just for show. The $1 million will be quietly given in a sealed divorce agreement whan all is said and done.

Michael wants to kill her, but it's not for money.

If anyone wants to offer me a million bucks to either kill or not kill my wife, let me know.

Can you tell my wife isn't a Freeper?

All of which means that Mr. Schiavo, and his pet judge, really, really, really want Mrs. Schiavo dead.

Do they fear have an outside disinterested agency examine her and discover things they don't want made public for fear of prosecution.

I question whether the judge would have let him get away with it. My guess is that the judge would have refused to reverse the order, and maybe would have forced Schiavo to disgorge the money.

That's probably what his lawyer told him, as well.

I thought he'd take it, why did you (correctly) predict he wouldn't?

Michael Schiavo should have accepted the money and then turned around and given it to the Schindler's for Terri's care - seeing as how he SQUANDERED ALL OF THE JUDGMENT MONEY ON LEGAL STUFF TO KILL TERRI.

What is the mental problem of this idiot? It`s obvious Terry is not vegatative, it`s obvious she she does not want to die, what is his obsession with killing her? Why is this even being considered? I thought this suicide stuff was all settled with Jack Kevorkian going to jail. Now if it was Hitlery Clinton in Terrys place, I`d be first in line to pull the feeding tube, but we are talking about a human being here.

HOAX ALERT

This is a carefully staged hoax with the goal of making Schiavo play the noble role of the man that is not interested in money

I think both sides are to blame.

Mainly, because I believe that he had something to do with Terri's condition. He is worried that if she recovers enough, she will implicate him and he could go to jail.

Also, he is so busy tyring to act like the "concerned husband" trying to do what Terri would have wanted, that taking the money would prove he really doesn't care.

This kinda proves that he is driven by ulterior motives. Like maybe he is AFRAID that Terri will tell that he tried to kill her. He NEEDS her dead to keep out of prison. IMO

I don't think so. This woman was poisoned and the husband is the 1 who did it. He wants her dead as soon as possible.

I don't think anyone trying to kill his wife because she is no longer any good for him is in any way noble.

I think he is worried about what would be found out about her condition and how she got that way. He wants her dead and her body destroyed.
