Mainly, because I believe that he had something to do with Terri's condition. He is worried that if she recovers enough, she will implicate him and he could go to jail.
Also, he is so busy tyring to act like the "concerned husband" trying to do what Terri would have wanted, that taking the money would prove he really doesn't care.
I was/am 100% CERTAIN that two-timing-father-of-two-BASTARD-CHILDREN-possible-BOTCHED-ATTEMPTED-MURDERER-not-legally-qualified-guardian-husband Michael would NOT take the $1 Million!
Bottom Line---Michael would rather give up THAT money than be INDICTED, CONVICTED and EXECUTED for REPEATED BOTCHED ATTEMPTED MURDER!!!!!
The INSURANCE money he almost certainly stands to gain from Terri's murder is just a "bonus!"
