I don't think anyone trying to kill his wife because she is no longer any good for him is in any way noble.

I think he is worried about what would be found out about her condition and how she got that way. He wants her dead and her body destroyed.

which also explains his other abhorrent actions- denying her family visitations, basic dental care, gynecological care, basic sensory stimulation, physical therapy, and even denying a priest to administer last rites when he pulled her tube the last time. He has gone out of his way to make sure that she never recovers enough to be able to communicate, while all the time trying to finish her off.
This man, his lawyer and the judge are nothing less than monsters.

I'd bet if he gets his way to legally murder her, her body will be CREMATED asap and he'll still be saying his wife would want to be cremated.
