Alan Keyes is scheduled to appear on Michael Medved's show today to discuss the Terry Schiavo case. Medved frequently disagrees with Keyes, but not on this topic. According to the RenewAmerica site, Keyes will be appearing in the second hour of Michael's show which is broadcast live 3-6 Eastern / Noon-3 Pacific. Here is a list of stations where you can hear Michael's show. You can also hear him live on the web.
I can't believe that I'm actually posting a Keyes thread.

I believe I once heard Medved call Keyes a complete nut and in need of help.

I was amazed when Medved announced this on his show last Friday.

Oh Alan, don't screw this up...
I was never once disappointed with him during the Illinois campaign. It was only after, when he snubbed Obama, that I was disappointed. If you won't congratualte you're opponent, you're either saying he cheated (and that was not the case) or that the voters were stupid. Keyes should have been mad at the Illinois media, or more specifically at those who dug into Jack Ryan's divorce and torpedoed him, but it wasn't Obama's fault he lost.

Did you see the thread on FR that discussed the "Terri schiavo information page" some legal blogger put together? The reason the guy's conclusion is that both sides are talking past each other is because he's never read the stuff on the info page you just posted a link to.
As I said in an op-ed I wrote on the subject, Michael Schiavo has been acting so weird he makes Hunter S. Thompson look like Joe Friday.

Obama doesn't deserve any praise.
You're talking about a guy who thinks it's ok to kill off children who survive abortion attempts by leaving them on the operating table to die.
Kinda like congratulating Stalin on his human rights achievements.

He may be bad on tactics, but I got to meet him last year and you shouldn't let anybody tell you he's unhinged or egotistical. He took time out of his day to answer questions from my nine-year-old son, and his mind is quick and steady as a rock. If he just had that ability Dubya has to make the press sit up and beg at press conferences...

Hey, Obama sucks it, let's get that straight right now. But the bottom line is that you congratulate your opponent for winning the votes of the majority as a sign of respect for the voters and the system. Such congratulations are only to be witheld if your opponent won by cheating.
Kinda like congratulating Stalin on his human rights achievements.
If Keyes had called and said, "How great that Illinois is sending a pro-abortion senator to Washington," I'd agree with you. But congratualtions were due because the guy won.

I think that Alan Keyes has gotten a bum rap, largely because of the perception the main-stream media has created concerning him. I think he is a brilliant mind. I have seen him debate Alan Dershowitz, the result had Dershowitz ordering Alan Keyes to "Shut up!" and Dershowitz pleaded to the crowd to disregard things Keyes said because Keyes was not the big famous attorney that he himself (Dershowitz) was (like Keyes didn't deserve to occupy the same stage as him). I forget what the topic was, something to do with Constitutional Law. Dershowitz acted insulted that he had to argue against someone who wasn't ivy league. Keyes systemically disassembled Dershowitz.
