Diebold, electronic voting and the vast right-wing conspiracy (Barf Alert!)
The Free Press ^ | February 24, 2004 | Bob Fitrakis

The Governor of Ohio, Bob Taft, and other prominent state officials, commute to their downtown Columbus offices on Broad Street. This is the so-called “Golden Finger,” the safe route through the majority black inner-city near east side. The Broad Street BP station, just east of downtown, is the place where affluent suburbanites from Bexley can stop, gas up, get their coffee and New York Times. Those in need of cash visit BP’s Diebold manufactured CashSource+ ATM machine which provides a paper receipt of the transaction to all customers upon request.

You know what's perhaps the funniest thing about all this? The fact that the change in 2002 of voting machines to the "electronic versions" was all due to the hem and haw of the 2000 debacle! In other words, it's because of the same charges of "racism" and "disinfranchisement" that we now hear about Ohio in 2004, that we changed in 2002! Oh but now they say, "We need a paper trail! We need a paper trail"!

HELLO? Didn't we have a "paper trail" in Florida in 2000? Did THAT "paper trail" work well? LOL

I'm left with only one question: Why don't these people just admit that their only REAL intention is to simply deny anyone but a hard-left liberal the right to vote? Get it over with. Get the truth out in the open. You'll feel better, Bev Harris et al.

No Diebold voting machines were used in Ohio. Verifedvote.org lists county by county voting method.

Bill Maher has been repeating his tired bit about Diebold and Republican ties. He actually implies that the machines are corrupt because of the owner's outspoken Republican ties. Maher has even taken his worn-out "humor" on the road and basically repeats the same lies.

The reason the DemonRats want a "paper trail" is so they can cound and recount, a la Washington state, until they've stolen an election. Fraudulemnt recounts like that aren't possible with electronic touch screen voting. All that can be done is what ought to be done--assure that the machines are working properly.

I hope he keeps it up. He used to be a respected journalist. Like Dannie Rather he will retire as a self-discredited joke.

I agree, the Dems took the Washington Governorship by having the luxury of paper. Not having the paper ballots closes the fraud opportunity window dramatically.

I bet the Dems generated those 400 needed ballots in the luxury of their own homes watching Springer!

Garbage like this hides the real problem: Diebold is a corrupt company that doesn't try to secure their machines and routinely breaks rules about electronic voting designed to stop tampering. Nobody should want his vote in the hands of this company.

Bob is the head Central Ohio Moonbat. He's been writing tin foil hat stuff for years. What's different now is that a significant number of democrats listen to this type of stuff.

Who cares if Bush lost OH?--From their endless b!tchin' and moanin' about Gore actually winning, I thought only the popular vote matters, not the electoral one /sarcasm. Funny how the democrats are so upset about Kerry losing since they couldn't possibly want a president that was illegitimate, right?

Talk about a monumental about face.

It's almost March and I can't believe these people are still fixated on the election! Talk about being pathologically obsessed. They need to get a hobby or something.

You said it gop_gene...

I had to travel up toward LA yesterday and a few scans of the FM brought up mostly Lib talk, and I'll be darned if they weren't yapping about the (now get this) electile-disfunction (not making this up) voter fraud and everything under the sun...

Message to DEMS: YOU LOST, if you're serious about helping your country in any way study the election and why you lost and TRY AGAIN IN 4 YEARS.
