Dear Joe,
After listneing to Ron Reagan and his vitriolic hatred for the President, along with the squeemish although muted disdain for his statements from the rest of the MSNBC panel, surely you can see the light and do the right thing and jump off the Tiantic aka MSNBC (Even Chrissy had the "deer in the lights look" after that.
You are very insightful and call it like you see it and your talents would be appreciateed by my many... Ask John Gibson if he made the right decision. FYI. The only time I change the channel is when Greta comes on (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more, say no more)
Sincerely,
Bill Clinton

A very minor correction to your post in honor of my many friends who are Marines. Soldiers are in the Army and Marines are Marines. (I am the son of an Army Colonel and it took me awhile to get that through my stupid army brat head. One of my best Marine Gny Sgt friend was very clear on that point)

Ron Jr., Political Analyst?
From: The Daveman Speaks Out
Wed . Jan. 2, 2005 11:15 PM (Cent)
What exactly made MSNBC think that Jr. would be a respected political analyst ?
I have always felt a sort of sympathy for Ron Reagan Jr. His younger days must have been rough. Being the son of a President has to be difficult. The lack of privacy must be enough to make one go insane. But Ron Jr. has always seemed to find a way to make it all work for him.
Still, I must admit that I found it odd when MSNBC made Ron Jr. a political analyst. Sure, Jr. being a liberal had something to do with it, but why take the risk? After listening to Ron Reagan Jr. make an idiot of himself tonight, it is no wonder that MSNBC is worried about ratings these days.
One would suspect that most don't view Jr. as a credible analyst. He often exhibits a lack of knowledge of how government works. And he tends to mix the facts of the issues up pretty badly.
Tonight Ron Reagan Jr. solidified that view. As the MSNBC panel made their post State of the Union analysis, Jr. decided that he would show how poor taste and bad judgment make up a liberal mindset.
He tried to lay credit to the question of whether the hug between an Iraqi woman, whose country had recently been liberated by American Troops, and the mother of a Marine, who gave the greatest sacrifice in Iraq, was staged for some sort of political points.
Even though the rest of the MSNBC panel stated that such an idea was cynical and wrong, Ron Reagan Jr. kept trying to give credit to the cynical idea. It got to the point where Chris Matthews had to find some way to drag little Rons foot out of his mouth. It is obvious Matthews knew how tasteless Jr's statements were. Unfortunately for Jr., Matthews did not step in until after Joe Scarborough blasted Jr. for the statements. The whole scene looked pretty bad.
The worst part is that Jr. kept tying to push his cynical analysis. Ron Jr's cynical and tasteless statements are sad when you consider the fact that the Iraqi woman in question is the daughter of a man who was assassinated by Saddam's henchmen. And this past weekend, thanks to people like the son of the mother she hugged, the assassinated father's daughter took part in a free election that many cynics thought was impossible.
The whole incident only gives weight to the question that many have. Why would anyone consider Ron Reagan Jr. worthy of the title, Political Analyst? Pundit, maybe. Humorist, sure. Analyst, no.
It is painfully obvious that Ron Reagan Jr. failed to learn something from his father, President Reagan. He seems to have missed out on his father's wise vision that freedom is a wonderful thing. That when people come out of the darkness of tyranny, they get a better life. That those who are liberated are thankful to those who liberated them.
From listening to other statements that Jr. made, it is obvious that he has missed out on other lessons. It seems that he has never taken notice of how lowering taxes helps put money back into the public economy. Which in return, increases jobs. Which in return, increases the tax base. Which in return, gathers more revenue for the government and helps fund federal programs in a more sound manner.
Tonight, Ron Jr. took his political vitriol to a sad level. Tonight makes one wonder if Ron Reagan Jr. also missed one of the biggest lessons in life. That in order to be a gentleman, one must learn to be a man. Dignity is part of being both.

Nice to see some other Joe fans! He'd be great on FOX.
Scarborough Ping! (First in AGES, been away for a long time!)
FReepmail me if you want to be on or off this list! :-)
Yes, FOX needs to get a clue that Greta is a snooze-fest, and MSNBC is just not the place for Joe, they have gone off the deep-end over there.
I have read before that Joe was possibly interested in being at FOX, but that they weren't interested in him. It was in a gossip section of a Wash. paper I believe, so no idea if it's really true...

When did dancer regan become a political analyst? After his father's funeral in June 2004, the Democrats got him to speak at their convention. The media hailed it as a coup and MSNBC brought him on to co-anchor their "After Hours" show with Scarborough, running late-night each night after the convention. They conintinued the "After Hours" format during the Republican convention 5 weeks later. Now, "After Hours" seems to be a fixture on MSNBC when they want a live post-Washington-event show that airs when the other cables news channels revert back to reruns of their earlier programming.

When did MSNBC start thinking we gave a damn what twinkletoes thinks about anything? The moment twinletoes used the occassion of his great father's passing to launch an attack on the President. That's all it took.
